(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 16 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Li Yongqin and two other practitioners were arrested in the Jilin University Hospital on the afternoon of September 27, 2022. Ms. Li was given house arrest. She went to the police station after officers told her to come and pick up her items. She went there but did not return home. She is being held in Weizigou.
2. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Peng Jianpu Tried in Court
Mr. Peng Jianpu was tried by the Hailin City Court on November 23, 2022. Since his wife was seriously ill and his blood pressure was 220 mmHg, the trial was held in the Muling City Court. He defended himself and did not sign the documents at the end of the trial.
3. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Guohui Develops High Blood Pressure in Prison
Mr. Wang Guohui and his wife, Ms. Yu Chunli, were arrested at midnight on October 27, 2022. He has developed high blood pressure.
4. [Yiyang City, Hunan Province] Practitioners Repeatedly Harassed
Zhang Ninghua, Zhang Huasheng, Luo Guobin and other practitioners were repeatedly harassed at home in early November 2022 by people from the Heba Town Political and Legal Affairs Committee, the Comprehensive Management Office, and the police station. On November 12, 2022, Comprehensive Management Office director Ling Wei, Political and Legal Affairs Committee secretary Li Yang, the village secretary, and others returned to Zhang Huasheng’s home. They said that Hunan Province would send people to check the results of the winter “Zero Out” (a campaign aimed to make all practitioners renounce Falun Gong). They threatened to punish Zhang if he or she did not say what they wanted to hear at that time.
5. [Dezhou City, Shandong Province] Practitioners Face Trial
Liu Junqing, Ma Huadong, Hou Yaxi, Shan Xiufang and Li Junlan were indicted. The Economy Develop District Court may hear their cases in December 2022.
6. [Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Ding Lianxiang Arrested, Whereabouts Unknown
Ms. Ding Lianxiang was arrested on April 12, 2022, by officers from the local police station. She was held in the Chaozhou City Detention Center. Her son visited her in October and was told that she was no longer there, but they did not know where she was.
7. [Shaodong City, Hunan Province] Mr. Zeng Zhiyuan Sick in Prison
Mr. Zeng Zhiyuan, 53, of Niushan Village, Shuidongjiang Town, was arrested on October 6, 2019. He was sentenced to five years in prison. He is in the Transformation Ward, the 10th Ward, Wangling Prison in You County, Zhuzhou City. Family visits have been canceled since 2020. The guards cite the COVID pandemic as the reason. Ms. Zeng has developed intestinal hernia as a result of the persecution.
8. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Ma Xiuling Harassed
Ms. Ma Xiuling of Maguanzhai, Luannan County was arrested in mid-December 2021 for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in the Hugezhuang Open Market. She was released on bail pending trial that night.
She was told recently that the Hugezhuang Police Station director would meet her and she had better cooperate.
