(Minghui.org) While on my way home from grocery shopping one morning, I saw a senior sitting on the side of the road enjoying the sunlight. Somehow I felt that he must be a member of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), so I was thinking about how to talk to him. Probably because he saw me smiling at him, he asked me, “Do you know me?” I said, “Maybe I saw you before. You look familiar to me.” So I went over and talked to him.
I asked him if he was a member of the CCP. He became angry, “Don’t mention it. I have applied to join it for decades but I was never accepted. It was all because of my brother-in-law who was the one in charge of the transportation company I worked for. Because my father was persecuted by the Party before, and the social status of our family was very low. I tried to work hard to change our situation, but no matter how hard I worked, my brother-in-law simply denied my application. He must have done that intentionally. I hated him so much that I do not talk to him. I just do not understand why he prevented me joining the Party.” The more he talked, the angrier he got.
I explained to him, “I know why. I think you should thank your brother-in-law.”
I went on to say, “Do you know that when people join the party, they must take an oath to dedicate their whole life to it? The Party will be destroyed by the heavens due to its evil nature, and all of its members will go down with it. Actually a lot of people are quitting the Party nowadays, so isn’t it a good thing that you were never a part of it? In addition, you just told me that your father was persecuted by the Party, so why do you still want to join it? I think you should also quit the Communist Youth League you joined.”
He listened to me carefully and said, “This thing (being unable to join the Party) has bothered me for decades. Now I understand why it is actually a good thing! I will quit the Communist Youth League!”
