(Minghui.org) The first magazine (in Chinese) by Minghui Publishing Center, Tiandi Cangsheng (Sentient Beings Between Heaven and Earth), was published on January 29, 2022. According to the magazine’s editors, Tiandi Cangsheng will be published quarterly, and the editors are striving to produce high-quality periodicals for the well-educated readers. They selected a traditional book-style layout, and use a large font for increased readability.
The magazine is designed to be printed with A4 paper (8.27 x 11.69 inches), for the convenience of Falun Dafa practitioners who produce informational materials at their own homes in China. While its electronic version remains free for download for practitioners in China, the print version is available for purchase on Minghui Publishing Center’s website for readers outside of China.
The electronic version of the magazine has attracted 5,000 readers in the first three days of its publication, mostly readers from China. For readers outside of China, the Minghui Publishing Center is still collecting orders for the print version.
Below is feedback from two Falun Dafa practitioners.
One of them is a professional magazine editor in China who has high standards for magazine designs. He found the content of Tiandi Cangsheng so interesting that he finished reading the entire magazine in one sitting.
Another practitioner, who moved from China to a foreign country, said he finished reading the magazine in an hour and a half while taking the train home after work. He said he was moved most by the story of Michelangelo, who improved himself through art while overcoming loneliness.
The practitioner said, “Michelangelo was the one who was bestowed with great responsibility by Heaven. The Bible stories he depicted in his paintings are really inspiring and they made me think about what is the real purpose of life. Additionally, the article itself was very well written.”
He continued, “I was also very impressed by the article talking about painting skills, especially on how to paint light and shadow. I can’t get my eyes off those great works! It nourishes my soul.
“Another article about the beauty of traditional clothing and how it’s related to one’s body and mind was helpful to me too. I’m the kind of person who doesn’t pay much attention to my appearance, and I now realize that this is Party culture. I think I really have a lot to change.”
“Overall, I think the magazine is very well balanced. It has articles about traditional culture, both from the East and West. There are also stories about Falun Dafa, and how one receives blessings for supporting it or retribution for persecuting good people. It’s very comprehensive!”
In an earlier article “Looking Forward to High Quality Minghui Journals for the Intellectual Class in China,” another practitioner wrote, “In China, we call Minghui journals ‘pamphlets,’ and we have distributed them for over 20 years. They have played a huge role in saving people. Many practitioners also like to read them, because they help us to clarify the facts from different angles and with different stories. The pamphlets are inexpensive, simple to produce in large quantities, and easy to distribute.”
“Over the years, the pamphlets have gotten larger, from size A6 (4.13 x 5.83 inches) to size A5 (5.83 x 8.27 inches). The content has gotten richer and the layout more exquisite. Practitioners in China have also paid more attention to the look and feel of the final product. Currently, most of the pamphlet covers are printed on thinner, coated paper which is much better than regular copy paper.”
“People in regular residential communities are relatively easier to reach. Many people have read the pamphlets and quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). People in the upper classes have relatively fewer opportunities to receive the pamphlets. Even if they get one by chance, it may not appeal to them.”
A Minghui editor added, “Both the pamphlets and newspapers have their own unique readers and functionality. We now have our very first magazine, Tiandi Cangsheng, specifically designed for intellectuals. We hope that through stories of traditional culture or those showing the inner world of Dafa cultivators, we can guide those sentient beings a step closer back to their original heavenly homes. We welcome more practitioners to help promote this magazine. We hope sentient beings can take a moment to slow down in their busy lives and enjoy reading this gift that nourishes their souls.”
