(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 13 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Shanhaiguan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhao Huanzhen Appealed
Mr. Zhao Huanzhen from Shanhaiguan City was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong in the Wangfengtai Market in Suizhong County. He was arrested by officers from the Lijia Police Station on August 22, 2021. On November 29, 2021, his family received a notice that Mr. Zhao was sentenced to one year and two months in prison and fined 5,000 yuan. He has been detained in the Suizhong County Detention Center. Mr. Zhao pleaded not guilty and submitted his appeal to the Huludao City Intermediate Court on January 10, 2022.
2. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhou Jinhui Arrested Twice in February
Ms. Zhou Jinhui, from the Zhifu District was arrested by officers from the Shihuiyao Police Station on February 8, 2022. She was released the next day. Ms. Zhou was arrested again on the morning of February 22, 2022, at her father’s home. She returned home on February 27.
3. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Gailing Arrested
Ms. Zhang Gailing, in her 70s, gave a child an amulet printed with Falun Gong information in Yuxi Park on February 22, 2022. She was reported to the police and was taken to the Yuandong Police Station.
Five or six officers ransacked her home around 9 p.m. that night. They confiscated all her Falun Gong books, the photo of Falun Gong’s founder, and her computer. Ms. Zhang was detained for 24 hours. She was released the next day and was ordered to be on call.
4. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners in Their 70s Arrested
Officers from the Fushun City Domestic Security Division and the Yong’an Police Station arrested Ms. Liu Guiyun, in the Xinfu District, on February 22, 2022. They ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and a photo of Falun Gong’s founder.
The officers also arrested Ms. Cui Yuqiu and Ms. Chen Ying and ransacked their homes the same day. They are held in the Nangou Detention Center.
5. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Case Against Mr. Zhang Xiwei Brought to Court
Ms. Zhang Xiwei from Liquan County was arrested at home on July 21, 2021. She was taken to the Yanta District Detention Center in Xi’an City, and held since then. Her family was not allowed to visit her. The case against her was brought to the Yanta District Court. She was scheduled to be tried on April 22, 2022.
6. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Dong Yiran Arrested
Mr. Dong Yiran was arrested by officers from the Maluwan Police Station when he distributed informational materials about Falun Gong on February 24, 2022. Six or seven police ransacked his home. They confiscated blank CDs, informational materials about Falun Gong, photos of Falun Gong’s founder, and his Falun Gong books.
Mr. Dong’s family went to the police station and asked for his whereabouts on February 25. They learned that he was sent to a detention center after being videotaped. The police refused to release further information.
7. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Case Against Mr. Sun Yushan Submitted to Procuratorate
Mr. Sun Yushan was arrested by officers from the Qingshuitang Police Station in the Kaifu District on the evening of January 20, 2022. He was held in the Changsha City No. 2 Detention Center on January 28.
His case was submitted to the Kaifu District Procuratorate on February 18, 2022.
8. [Jianli City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xu Jiang Faces Trial
Twelve people from the local police station and her former workplace went to Ms. Xu Jiang’s home around 11 p.m. on February 10, 2022. They searched and video-recorded her home. Ms. Xu was taken to the Jianli Detention Center, which refused to admit her due to her high blood pressure. Ms. Xu was then sent to the Jianli People’s Hospital and “treated” while being monitored by six officers.
Ms. Xu was scheduled to be tried on March 5 with another practitioner Ms. Liu Liping.
9. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Meng Xiufen Arrested
Ms. Meng Xiufen was arrested on February 17, 2022, and her home was ransacked.
10. [Shantou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Xu Yuqian, 74, Arrested
Ms. Xu Yuqian, 74, was reported to the police by a student for talking to him at a basketball playground about Falun Gong on January 26, 2022. She was arrested by officers from the Chenghai District Police Department and the Shuishang Police Station. Her home was ransacked. She has been held at the Chenghai District Detention Center since then.
