Applicants must practice Falun Dafa or be from a family of Dafa disciples. Candidates that have the potential to become Falun Dafa disciples will also be considered. Applicants may submit applications online, and the New York-based Fei Tian Academy of the Arts will arrange auditions for preliminary qualifiers.

An additional 44 Falun Gong practitioners have lost their lives to the persecution of their faith. Some practitioners died in detention, some after being released, and several died after years of ongoing persecution.
During the three-day festival, practitioners introduced Falun Dafa by participating in a parade, demonstrating the exercises on stage and setting up an information booth. Many people learned the Dafa exercises and signed a petition to stop the persecution in China.
Targeted in a police sweep, a retired military doctor in Changsha City, Hunan Province was recently sentenced to a two-year prison term for practicing Falun Gong. Her pension was also suspended.
