(Minghui.org) My husband returned from abroad in 2017 after we’d been separated for eighteen years. My father-in-law was seriously ill and hoped my husband would attend his own son’s wedding.
My husband left China 18 years before. In the beginning, he sent money home to pay off his debts, but eventually stopped. He secretly called his mother but would not talk to me or ask how our son and I were doing. I raised the child by myself while taking care of his parents.
When my father-in-law fell ill in 2017, I visited my in-laws more often. I washed his hair and feet, and helped my mother-in-law with cooking and cleaning. I taught my father-in-law to recite “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” when he was hospitalized. I brought him delicious food and gave him money. He told the other patients that I was a great daughter-in-law, and I helped them renounce the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations.
Regrettably, my father-in-law passed away the day before my husband arrived. I answered the phone when my husband called my in-laws’ home, and reassured him that I was taking good care of his mother. His only response was, “What are you doing there? I want to talk to my mother.” I handed the phone to his mother. I felt angry and wronged.
My husband didn’t want to talk to me, and looked angry whenever he saw me. He wanted me to stop practicing Falun Dafa, and said we could not be together as long as I continued to practice. When I noticed texts from another woman on his phone, I wept quietly.
I asked him one day, “We’ve been married for more than thirty years. Why can’t you tell me what’s going on?”
“And talk about what?” he replied, “I found someone else to live with me.”
“I’ve been taking care of your parents all these years, and this is how you treat me?” I said with sadness. I felt wronged but I couldn’t verbalize it.
Due to my lack of understanding of the Fa principles, the ordeal began to affect my body. My stomach felt bloated and I didn’t have any appetite. I had hiccups and could only eat a bit of porridge. I was irritable, anxious, and scared. I went from 116 to 107 pounds, which affected my doing the three things.
Master Li, the founder of Falun Dafa, pointed things out to me through a dream: My sister visited me from far away. She walked into the house and said, “Why is the house leaking so badly? I don’t think it’s livable. You should get a new house.”
My stomach pain was unbearable that day, and I vomited green fluid. I couldn’t sleep all night, and realized it was time to eliminate my attachments. I knelt down and asked Master for help, “Please help me! The Fa-rectification has not ended, and I still have to awaken more people. Do not allow the bad elements to persecute me.”
I then remembered Master’s words,
“His mind was what caused his death.” (The Sixth Talk, Zhuan Falun)
I also recalled what a practitioner said in his sharing article: “Do not let the old forces blindfold me, tie me up on the bed, and let me bleed to death.”
Everything was an illusion, and all the negative thoughts were not the real me. They came from the old forces. I don’t acknowledge them and I don’t want them. I will only walk the path arranged by Master, and no one can touch me.
Master said,
“The falun will protect those who genuinely do our practice. My roots are planted in this universe, and so someone would have to be able to harm me in order to harm you, which means that they would have to have the power to harm this universe.” (The First Talk, Zhuan Falun)
I asked Master to help me improve my understanding so I could look inward. And I heard someone say, “Eliminate your human notion!” I then recalled Master’s poem,
“Born Anew
As the Righteous Fa spreads,Untold fiends try to impede,Yet sentient beings do still gain salvation,And human notions change,The degenerate things purged,Brightness now shines forth.” (Hong Yin, Translation Version A)
I immediately felt better, and I was fine the next day.
I felt renewed, and I’m grateful for Master’s salvation. I will cultivate with diligence, assist Master in Fa-rectification, and awaken more people.
