The proclamation states, “Falun Dafa transcends cultural boundaries and contributes to a healthier, more harmonious society. It is an uplifting mind body practice centered upon the universal principles of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance. It empowers individuals to embrace high virtue and improves their well being holistically. Hundreds of millions in over 100 countries have benefited from it since its introduction in China on May 13, 1992; and
“Falun Dafa practitioners have touched the lives of Cleveland residents and the world during these difficult times They offer exercise instruction and health information through free on-line workshops, cultural programs, and outdoor exercises sites. Many have found it to be life-changing for the better.”
Background: What is Falun Dafa?
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and learned the five gentle exercises, have experienced uplifted health and well-being.
