(Minghui.org) May 13, 2022 is World Falun Dafa Day and the 30th anniversary of Falun Dafa’s introduction to the public. Ken Buck, Member of Congress, sent a letter to congratulate the 30th anniversary. Mayor Jan Kulmann of the City of Thornton proclaimed May 13 as Falun Dafa Day in the city.
Letter from Ken Buck, Member of Congress
The letter reads, “It is my pleasure to acknowledge the 23rd World Falun Dafa Day and congratulate the Falun Gong movement on its 30th anniversary. Over the years, the Falun Dafa Association of Colorado and local practitioners have touched the lives of many citizens through workshops, classes, and cultural programs.
“I stand in solidarity with Falun Gong practitioners, who have lost their lives, freedoms, and other rights for adhering to their beliefs and practices. We must never forget how critical the right to exercise the faith of our choosing is to the American way and freedom around the world. No one should be mistreated by their government because of the religion they choose to practice.”
Proclamation from Mayor Jan Kulmann of the City of Thornton
The proclamation reads, “Falun Dafa transcends cultural and racial boundaries and contributes to the universal dream of a peaceful, tolerant, and more compassionate society.”
Background: What Is Falun Dafa?
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings—which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance—and learned the five exercises have experienced improved health and well-being.
