The proclamation reads, “Falun Dafa is a spiritual practice that millions around the world have made a part of their lives; and
rooted in Buddhist tradition, it consists of self-improvement through the study of teachings, gentle exercises and meditation; and
at the core of Falun Dafa are the values of truthfulness, compassion and forbearance; and many feel that in Falun Dafa, they have found a deeply rewarding spiritual path and Falun Dafa is taught free of charge and open to all; and
local Falun Dafa practitioners have touched the lives of many residents through workshops, classes and cultural programs, enriching Hoosiers’ lives.”
Background: What Is Falun Dafa?
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and learned the five gentle exercises, have experienced uplifted health and well-being.
