(Minghui.org) Five Falun Gong practitioners in Dezhou City, Shandong Province, who were arrested between January 2021 and March 2022 are still being detained.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Mr. Zhang Guogang was arrested on January 5, 2021, for talking to people about Falun Gong. His mother, who is in her 80s, was with him and she was arrested as well. Although his mother was released soon after, Mr. Zhang is still in the Dezhou City Detention Center.
Mr. Yang Feng was arrested at home on April 7, 2021. His two laptops and Falun Gong books were confiscated. His arrest was approved a month later. While he is detained, his relatives and neighbors have to help care for his incapacitated elderly mother.
Ms. Li Xiaoxia was arrested on November 2, 2021, and has been held at the Dezhou City Detention Center since.
Ms. Zhang Xia found a surveillance device on her electric motorcycle on January 14, 2022. She was arrested on March 3 and had her home ransacked. She is now in a detention facility in Pingyuan County.
Two days later on March 5, Ms. Wang Jinzhen, 82, was arrested and had her home ransacked. She is also in a detention facility in Pingyuan County.
