The proclamation reads, in part, “May 13, 2022, marks the 30th anniversary of the introduction of Falun Dafa – one of the world’s most popular meditation and cultivation practices. Falun Dafa, also called Falun Gong, is an ancient Qi Gong discipline of mind/body cultivation. It is a way to improve physical and mental wellness through a series of gentle exercises and meditation. This cultivation practice is guided by the principles of truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance. Falun Dafa encourages people to be good, kind and thoughtful of others.
“Falun Dafa practitioners’ determination and courage to stand up for truthfulness, compassion and tolerance while facing severe persecution from the Chinese Communist Party. Falun Dafa practitioners have touched the lives of residents in Detroit. They dedicate countless hours to their communities in organizing free meditation classes, outdoor exercises, cultural programs, and participating in many community events like parades, and festivals to share the beauty and benefits of the Falun Dafa practice.”
Background: What Is Falun Dafa?
