1. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Suzhi Faces Trial
Ms. Liu Suzhi was officially arrested by the Lishan District Police Department on January 4, 2022, and was physically arrested on January 18, 2022. She is facing a trial in court.
Ms. Liu was sentenced to five years in prison by the Tiexi District Court in 2001. She was again sentenced to six years in prison in 2007 and 2 years in prison in 2018 by the Lishan District Court.
2. [Xiangyang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xia Juying Detained in Prison
Ms. Xia Juying, 79, was sentenced to three years and six months in prison on March 6, 2022, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She is currently detained in the Wuhan Women’s Prison.
3. [Daye City, Hubei Province] Ms. Peng Jizhen Detained in a Brainwashing Center
Ms. Peng Jishen was arrested at her rented apartment by more than 20 officers from the Daye City Police Department and local police station at midnight on May 6, 2022. Ms. Peng was taken to a brainwashing center. She started a hunger strike and has not eaten anything for more than 10 days. It was learned that Ms. Peng was taken to a hospital.
4. [Chongqing] Ms. Yang Youbi Under Residential Surveillance
Ms. Yang Youbi lives in the No.5 Residential Community of Nanping in Nan’an District. Six people were hired by the Huayuan Road Police Station and the local neighborhood committee to take turns watching her.
Xia Chenggang from the Huayuan Road Police Station and Huang Yong from the local neighborhood committee, went to Ms. Yang’s home to take some photos.
5. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Harassed
Four officers went to Ms. Liu Jinfan’s home on the afternoon of May 12, 2022. They confiscated a photo of Falun Gong’s founder and four posters. They made Ms. Liu sign the list of confiscated items. They returned the next day and claimed her signature was invalid. Ms. Liu signed without reading the paper carefully.
Five or six officers from the Beicheng Police Station went to Ms. Guan’s home on the afternoon of May 13, 2022. They confiscated two Falun Gong books and one desk calendar. They took Ms. Guan to the police station for interrogation. After Ms. Guan had illness symptoms and her body trembled, she was taken back home.
Five officers from the Fate Police Station went to Ms. Pan Jingxian’s home on the afternoon of May 13, 2022. Ms. Pan was taken to the police station for interrogation. She refused to sign the interrogation transcript.
6. [Xinyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Hu Xuefang Arrested
Ms. Hu Xuefang from Huangchuan County was arrested in Beiguan Town, Huangchuan County on the morning of May 7, 2022, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked. Her Falun Gong books, media player, and cell phone were confiscated. She was released later that day.
7. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Six Practitioners Arrested
When six practitioners including Ms. Qi Xiulan clarified the truth in Suining City on May 16, 2022, they were followed and arrested by plainclothes officers from the Nanjing Road Police Station. The police body searched them but didn’t find anything on the practitioners. The practitioners were interrogated in the police station for more than 9 hours before being released. The police also ransacked the practitioners’ homes. They confiscated a media player from Ms. Qi’s home.
8. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Xinhua Arrested
Ms. Zhang Xinhua was arrested when she talked to a plainclothes officer about Falun Gong on April 28, 2022. She was taken to the Nanguan Police Station by several officers and was released later that day.
9. [Xiangyang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Xianzhi Arrested
Ms. Li Xianzhi, 77, was arrested on May 17, 2022, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Ms. Li was sentenced to three years and nine months some time ago. Now she is detained. Ms. Li has appealed her case.
10. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Rongzhen and Ms. Zhang Yuqin Arrested
Ms. Zhang Rongzhen and Ms. Zhang Yuqin, 72, were arrested on March 28, 2022. They were released on the same day.
11. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Cui Harassed
Ms. Zhang Cui was harassed at her father-in-law’s home by five people including Wang from the local police station, Zhou Fei from the local neighborhood committee, Yang Sizhong from the local community, and two people from the Wenjiang Brainwashing Center. They pressured Ms. Zhang to sign a guarantee statement and threatened her, saying her children’s education and her pension would be jeopardized. Ms. Zhang refused to cooperate.
12. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Xiumei Arrested
Ms. Chen Xiumei lives in Lidu Town, Jialing District. A group of officers went to her home on February 21, 2022. They broke the lock and forcefully entered. They confiscated a CD-ROM which contained the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and two bookmarks with the words “Falun Dafa is good”. Ms. Chen was taken to the Jialing District Police Department. She was not given any food for one day and night. She was taken to the Huafeng Detention Center on the afternoon of February 22, 2022, and was detained for 18 days. Ms. Chen was released on bail pending trial.
13. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. You Guangqing Persecuted
Ms. You Guangqing from Chaoyang Township was videotaped by village official Li Dongxu when she posted truth-clarifying materials on March 26, 2022. She was reported to the police. Two officers from the Chaoyang Township Police Station and security guard Cao Fengqiang came and ransacked her home. They confiscated 14 Falun Gong books, two speakers, and her cell phone. Ms. You was taken to the police station for interrogation.
Ten days later, the police officers went to Ms. You’s home to harass her again. After they left Ms. You’s husband beat her badly. Ms. You has now left her home to avoid further persecution.
14. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Guihua Harassed
Ms. Xu Guihua was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong in the Chengnan Market. She was arrested by officers from the Chengnan Police Station in the Taiping District in November 2021. Her home was ransacked. She was released on the same day.
Ms. Xu has been harassed by police multiple times. Ms. Xu was informed to go to court around 8 a.m. on May 18, 2022.
15. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhu Tianfu Harassed
Mr. Zhu Tianfu was harassed at home by officer Peng around 10 a.m. on April 10, 2022. He was forced to sign and give his fingerprint. The police went to his home twice on April 12, 2022. They climbed over the wall from the neighbor’s yard to enter his home. Mr. Zhu was taken to the police station on April 13, 2022, and was released around 7 p.m. Mr. Zhu left his home to avoid further persecution.
16. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Litao and Ms. An Hongmei Arrested
Ms. Wang Litao and Ms. An Hongmei were reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong near the Gaochengshan Night Market in the Development District on April 6, 2022. The two practitioners were arrested by four officers and were taken to the Wenli Police Station. Their homes were ransacked. They were detained for 19 hours before they were released.
