1. [Beijing] Case Against Mr. Zhang Guanghe Brought to Court
Mr. Zhang Guanghe from the West Leyuan Residential Community in the Pinggu District was told to go to the Pinggu District Court on June 15, 2022. He refused to sign any paperwork. It is unclear whether his case was brought to the court for a hearing or an inquiry.
On May 17, 2021, Mr. Zhang was stopped by three security guards in the Xianshe Residential Community. They reported him to the police. He was arrested and taken to the police department’s Case Handling Center by officers from the Binhe Police Station. The officers ransacked his home that evening and confiscated several Falun Gong books, Falun Gong keepsakes, a jacket, and a bicycle. The detention center refused to admit him because his blood pressure was high. He was released on bail.
2. [Huixian City, Henan Province] Ms. Hao Xiuying and Pingli Arrested
Ms. Hao Xiuying and another female practitioner Pingli were reported to the police while talking to people about Falun Gong in Beiyunmen Town on June 14, 2022. They were arrested by officers from the Beiyunmen Police Station. Ms. Hao was given 15 days of administrative detention and held in the Huixian City Detention Center. Pingli was placed in criminal detention in the Xinxiang City Detention Center.
3. [Luoyang City, Henan Province] Three Practitioners Face Trial
Ms. Zhao Hongjuan and two other practitioners were scheduled to be tried by the Luolong District Court at 9 a.m. on June 24, 2022.
4. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Gao Weichun Harassed
Staff members from the Yingqiu Town Comprehensive Management Office in Changle County and Liu Zhenguo, Party secretary of Gegouya Village, went to Mr. Gao Weichun’s home on the afternoon of May 14, 2022. They tried to get him to give up his belief in Falun Gong. Liu used his cell phone and photographed the interior of Mr. Gao’s home.
5. [Shanghai] Mr. Liu Shunming Followed and Monitored
Mr. Liu Shunming from Maqiao Town in the Minhang District was followed and monitored on the morning of June 23, 2022.
6. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Ming Harassed
On November 26, 2021, Ms. Li Ming was running her storefront as usual. A group of people suddenly came in, including the head of the Sub-district Armed Forces Department, Zhang Chaoliang from the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, director Yao Quan and Liu Ke of the Social Management Office, and several police officers in uniform. They videotaped and took pictures. Their main purpose was to get Ms. Li to sign a transformation statement. She refused to sign anything.
On May 31, 2022, director Yao brought five or six people to Ms. Li’s store and pressured her to sign paperwork, which she refused.
On June 8, they pressured and threatened Ms. Li to sign paperwork, which she again refused. At 10 a.m. the next morning, they phoned her six or seven times and insisted she sign paperwork, which she refused.
7. [Shanghai] Ms. Meng Fanzhen and Her Son Monitored
Using the excuse that it was almost July 1 st, which marks the anniversary of the date the CCP was founded, the Comprehensive Management Office in Waigang Town, Jiading District, sent people to monitor Ms. Meng Fanzhen and her son around the clock, from June 23 to July 1.
8. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Wenfeng Harassed
Ms. Li Wenfeng from the Chenghua District was coaxed into going to the police station. She was surrounded by so-called experts Yin Shunyao and others from the Xinjin Brainwashing Center from morning until midnight. These people talked to and pressured her non-stop. She kept sending righteous thoughts and went home at midnight.
9. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Tian Lieyun Harassed
The deputy director of the Yedian Town Police Station in Mengyin County led two people to Ms. Tian Lieyun’s home on June 23, 2022. They forcibly dragged her to a “zero-out” brainwashing center in the country, even though her disabled husband needed her care. (The “zero-out campaign” was initiated by the CCP to force all Falun Gong practitioners to renounce their belief).
On June 17, Kan Xiuling, Wang Chunxiang, and members of Yedian Town 610 Office went to Ms. Tian’s home and told her to go to the brainwashing center. These village officials and 610 Office members previously harassed her at her home many times.
10. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Zhang Ping Remains in Detention Center
Ms. Zhang Ping has been held in Lanzhou City No. 1 Detention Center since mid-May 2022. Her situation in the detention center remains unknown, which upsets her family and friends.
11. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Hu Jiyun Arrested
Hu Jiyun (gender unknown) from Zichuan District was arrested by officers from the Songling Police Station on June 22, 2022. Further information is pending.
12. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Han Xiujuan Taken to Detention Center
Ms. Han Xiujuan from the Liyuan Residential Community was reported to the town government by a village official while she was talking to people about Falun Gong in Haiyang Town, Haigang District, on May 7, 2022. Town officials forcibly took her to the Haiyang Town Police Station. She was then taken to the Qinhuangdao City Public Security Hospital.
The police ransacked Ms. Han’s home and confiscated over 100 booklets. Ms. Han went on a hunger strike in the hospital for 10 days and has now been taken to Qinhuangdao City Detention Center.
13. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Chunyan and Family Harassed Four Times in First Half of 2022
Ms. Liu Chunyan, nearly 60, has been repeatedly harassed in the first half of 2022 after her arrest and release in 2021. Officials from the 610 Office and the Political and Legal Affairs Committee went to Ms. Liu’s village committee twice to put pressure on them. Under their pressure, the village committee had to pressure Ms. Liu to sign a guarantee statement renouncing Falun Gong.
The third time, Guo from the village committee and administration office staff members of the local government went to Ms. Liu’s home.
The fourth time, Guo led four others, including members of the 610 Office, to her home. As soon as they stepped inside her home, they ordered her to sign a form. Ms. Liu’s non-practitioner husband got home in time to stop them.
Ms. Liu’s mother-in-law was frightened. After they left she had a hard time breathing. Ms. Liu was upset as well and started experiencing illness symptoms she suffered previously. She has abdominal pain after eating. She was not feel hungry, and can not fall asleep. Her husband is worried about her and his mother’s health. The family’s life has been disrupted.
