(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 7provinces, where at least 24 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Sun Wenzhong Tried
The Ranghulu District Court tried Ms. Sun Wenzhong on June 30, 2022. The procurators Wang Xin and Feng Guang said Ms. Sun violated Article 300 of the Criminal Law, and charged her with “undermining law enforcement with a cult organization,” a standard pretext used against Falun Gong practitioners. The lawyer pointed out that Falun Gong was not on the official list of 14 cults. Feng Guang said that the indictment was based on the internal documents instead of the law.
2. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhang Chunhe Faces Trial
The case against Ms. Zhang Chunhe from the Zengcheng District was scheduled to be tried on July 13, 2022, in the Haizhu District Court.
3. [Pujiang County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Luo Chunrong’s Whereabouts Unknown
Ms. Luo Chunrong, from Shou’an Town, was arrested while visiting another practitioner on July 13, 2021. She was denied a family visit, and her whereabouts have been unknown for more than one year.
4. [Tianjin] Mr. Yao Zhiwang arrested
Mr. Yao Zhiwang, from Xiaoyangzhuang Village, Hebeitun Town, Wuqing District, was arrested on June 8, 2022, because he talked to people about Falun Gong. He was taken to the Hebeitun Police Station. The police then ransacked his home and confiscated photos of Falun Gong’s founder, some amulets, audio players, and printed Falun Gong materials.
The police interrogated Mr. Yao and did not allow him to eat for one day. The police demanded he pay 2,000 yuan in bail or else he would be detained. Mr. Yao returned home the next afternoon.
5. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. He Yingchun Harassed
The local police harassed Ms. He Yingchun from Yongxing County in June 2022. She was pressured to sign a document, the contents are unknown.
6. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Fei Suxia Arrested
Ms. Fei Suxia, from Fufeng County, was arrested when she talked to people about Falun Gong. She was taken to Baoji City. Further information is pending.
7. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Jiang Yiling’s whereabouts Unknown
Ms. Jiang Yiling’s whereabouts have been unknown since June 22, 2022, after she returned to Jintang county. It was said the officers took her from the Jintang Police Department for a medical exam.
8. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Mr. Liao Zhijun’s Deposit Taken by the Police
Mr. Liao Zhijun was sentenced to four years in prison in May 2017 by the Suxian District Court. He survived the brutal torture and returned home in May 2021.
Mr. Liao had a bank account with the Construction Bank Beijie branch, with a balance of more than 10,000 yuan. Earlier this year Mr. Liao and his wife found there was no money in their account. The bank said their money was withdrawn by Chenzhou Court and the police department.
9. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested and Homes Ransacked
Ms. Zhang Yanzhe, 80, and Ms. Li Xiaozhe, 78, in Xushui District, were arrested after they talked to people about Falun Gong on June 16, 2022.
They were taken to the local police station and interrogated individually. Officers from the local Domestic Security Division found their addresses in the database. They called the local community clerks and the local police to join them in ransacking the two elderly practitioners’ homes together. They confiscated their Falun Gong books, the photo of the Falun Gong’s founder, and some amulets.
Ms. Zhang and Ms. Li forcibly pressed their fingerprints and footprints and recorded detailed personal information before being released in the evening. They were harassed at their homes in June 2022 by two community and government clerks.
An elderly female practitioner, whose name was unknown, from Fusan Township, Xushui District, was reported to the police in June 2022 because she talked to a contractor about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked, and her personal belongings were confiscated. Further information is pending.
10. [Dingxing County, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Shufang Arrested and Home Ransacked
Six or seven officers from the Dingxing County Domestic Security Division and the Ludong Police Station broke into Ms. Xiao Guozhen’s home and ransacked the place. They confiscated her Falun Gong books.
The police then arrested Ms. Liu Shufang, who was visiting Ms. Xiao, and ransacked her home. They confiscated all her Falun Gong books, copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party printed Falun Gong materials, and 1,500 yuan in paper bills with information about Falun Gong written on them.
Ms. Liu was taken to the Ludong Police Station for interrogation. She was released in the late afternoon.
11. [Shanghai] Mrs. Tu Sheng Released
Mr. Tu Sheng, 33, was arrested by officers from the Jiaxing Police Department in the Zhejiang Province in January 2019 for posting Falun Gong leaflets.
He was sentenced to three years and three months in prison by the Haining City Court. Mr. Tu was released in April 2022 from the Zhejiang Province No. 4 Prison.
12. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Duan Dedao and Mr. Zhou Guangming Harassed
The 610 Office in Mengyin County has recently stepped up its brainwashing sessions. They called, pressured, and threatened local practitioners to go to the brainwashing centers or forcibly took them there.
Wang Haifeng, the head of the 610 Office in Duozhuang Town, led five officers from the local police station to break into Mr. Duan Dedao’s home on June 22, 2022. They attempted to take him to the brainwashing center, but Mr. Duan was not at home.
They then went to Mr. Zhou Guangming’s home, which was locked, so they waited around for a while and then left.
The next day, Wang Haifeng rejoined some officers from the local police station to go to Mr. Duan’s home. Mr. Duan escaped the harassment because he was not home.
13. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Xiaoli Harassed
Officers from the Gaoxin District Xining Police Station harassed Ms. Liu Xiaoli repeatedly in January, April, May, and June 2022. They also harassed Ms. Tang Gangying and Ms. Yuan Bixiu around the same time. Ms. Tang was photographed three times this year.
In June 2021, the police forced Ms. Yuan’s husband to sign a guarantee statement renouncing Falun Gong on her behalf, saying that if he did, they would stop going to her home. However, they continued to harass Ms. Yuan repeatedly.
14. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhao Sheng and Others Arrested
Mr. Zhao Sheng from Beigao Village, Mr. Yan Yongquan from Nanchai Village, and Ms. Cui Xijun from Lujiazhuang Village, were arrested by officers from the Luancheng District Police Station on June 26, 2022. Their homes were ransacked. The police confiscated their computers, printers, Falun Gong books, and printed Falun Gong materials.
The three practitioners were taken to the Luancheng District Police Department and interrogated there. Mr. Zhao and Mr. Yan were released the next day, but Ms. Cui was taken to Shijiazhuang City. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Zhao Yufen from Mazhuang Village, Gaocheng District, was arrested on the same day. Her home was ransacked, and her Falun Gong books were confiscated. Ms. Zhao was taken to the Gaocheng District Police Department and pressured to sign statements renouncing Falun Gong. She was released the next day after her son signed a statement on her behalf.
Mr. Wu Xiumian was taken to the Gaocheng District Liangcun Police Station on July 2, 2022, and detained there since then.
