(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Chiayi, Taiwan, held a candlelight vigil in Wenhua Park on July 16, 2022, to mourn practitioners in mainland China who were killed in the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution, which has continued for 23 years.
Practitioners perform the exercises as a group before the candlelight vigil.
City councilor Tsai Wen-hsu showed his support at the candlelight vigil.
City councilor Tsai Wen-hsu attended the vigil and praised Falun Gong practitioners’ unyielding spirit. “Falun Gong practitioners have persevered over the past 23 years and have brought hope to the world,” he said.
Wang Hao, a candidate for the Chiayi City Council, said freedom of belief is a basic human right.
A male Falun Gong practitioner described the CCP’s genocidal campaign of persecution since July 20, 1999, and the CCP’s appalling crimes of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. He said that Falun Gong practitioners were marking 23 years of peaceful resistance to the persecution all over world and calling for collective efforts to stop the CCP’s atrocities.
Several practitioners shared how Falun Gong had brought them great health and improved their relationships with others. They expressed their deep gratitude to Master Li and their strong wish to see the persecution end in China.
