(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners from different parts of Bali, Indonesia gathered at Denpasar City on July 17, 2022 to tell people about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) 23-year persecution of the spiritual practice, and call for it to end.

Practitioners demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises, gave waist drum performances, and collected signatures on a petition calling for an end to the persecution. In the evening a candlelight vigil was held to mourn fellow practitioners who were persecuted to death by the CCP.

Practitioners started the day’s activities by doing the Falun Dafa exercises at Niti Mandala Square which is situated in Renon, Denpasar. The scene was solemn and peaceful. Some practitioners distributed informational materials to passersby while others collected signatures.

The event that day also included group Fa study, and practitioners talked about their cultivation experiences. The practitioners shared about how their character improved after they began practicing and following Falun Dafa’s principles, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Two new practitioners described their positive changes after they began practicing Falun Dafa. Some practitioners spoke about finding their shortcomings when they improved their character.

Practitioners lit candles as night fell, and silently mourned the more than 4,800 Falun Dafa practitioners who were persecuted to death by the CCP in China. During the vigil they displayed a large board, and the words “End 23 Years Persecution of Falun Gong” was in lights, so that people could clearly see the message.

More than 600 people signed the petition on the day of the event, to voice their support in ending the persecution. A gentleman said he felt sad that the persecution was still going on. He knew that the CCP has cruelly persecuted Falun Dafa practitioners for so many years and that practitioners have been clarifying the truth about the persecution to the world’s people.

A hawker said that he heard about the persecution of Falun Dafa years ago. He felt sad that the CCP continued to harvest practitioners’ organs while they were still alive.

After he was told about the persecution, a young man was initially not willing to sign the petition. He thought that the persecution was not a local matter, so it did not affect him. A practitioner clarified the truth to him and told him that the persecution affects everyone in the world. If people choose to remain silent after knowing the truth, then they are indirectly consenting to the persecution and one day that will affect them. After hearing this, the man immediately signed his name.

Background: What Is Falun Dafa and Why Is the CCP Persecuting It?

Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and have learned the five exercises, have experienced improved health and well-being.

Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology and on July 20, 1999, he issued an order to eradicate the practice.

Under Jiang’s personal direction, the CCP established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organization with the power to override the police and judicial systems and whose sole function is to carry out the persecution of Falun Dafa.

Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners as a result of the persecution over the past 23 years. The actual number is believed to be much higher. Countless practitioners have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.

There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply China’s organ transplant industry.
