(Minghui.org) When faced with “sickness karma,” younger Falun Dafa practitioners may not take it too seriously as they feel they can handle it without worrying about losing their lives to the “illness.” But it may be a different story for older practitioners, who may not be strong enough to weather the “illness.” While they may try to overcome the sickness karma by intensifying Fa study, exercises, and truth-clarification, their condition may not get better or even become worse. When that happens, they might start to believe that they have indeed fallen “ill.”
Master Li (Dafa’s founder) has explained the root cause of illnesses, “In our observation, the deeper reason people fall ill or experience misfortune is karma—a field of black matter. It is negative, or yin, by nature and something bad. Evil entities are yin natured as well, and dark, and they can enter a person’s body when conditions suit them. And they are the root cause of the ailments that people suffer, the main source of illness.” (The Seventh Talk, Zhuan Falun)
Master also made it very clear that he already removed all evil entities that caused illnesses in us, “What we have done is to remove the root causes of any ailments or poor health. But a cloud of sickness will still remain. (The Second Talk, Zhuan Falun)
My understanding is that even though the root cause is eliminated, the cloud of sickness or karma is still there and it’s something we must bear ourselves. Master is already bearing a lot of karma for us, and the rest is left for us to improve our xinxing at various cultivation stages.
We must be clear that as Dafa cultivators, we still have karma, but the root cause of the illness is gone. When we do not feel well, it might be the process of dispersing karma. Enduring hardship and eliminating karma should be considered a good thing. If the “illness” symptoms remain severe, we need to look within to see if we still have specific attachments and notions that have not been let go yet, if we have failed to improve ourselves and accumulated too much karma, or if we have some loopholes that have been taken advantage of by the old forces.
True Dafa cultivators have no more evil entities that can cause us illnesses. If we believe any illness-like symptom is indeed an illness, then we are acknowledging it and it can have an effect on us.
We have to distinguish karma from illness. When we study the Fa, we should not just go through the motions, but change from within, and truly absorb and understand the principles of the Fa.
Take the COVID-19 vaccine as an example. While some practitioners were forced to take it, there were also some who received the shots on their own initiatives in order to seek protection from the virus. Some of the latter group of practitioners have subsequently suffered some adverse effects. I believe they probably need to examine their motives for getting the shots and ponder whether they have ample faith in the Fa. If a cultivator simply wants the vaccination to protect oneself, they have dropped to the level of ordinary people on this particular matter.
On the other hand, regardless of whether the vaccine truly has a negative effect, we should maintain an upright mind and not be moved by it. If we treat the vaccine as plain water, it wouldn’t be able to do anything to us.
Going to the hospital to seek treatment for our “illness” is a similar matter. If we acknowledge that we are ill, then we are inviting the illness entity and it can act upon us. When we receive medicine, it may contaminate our bodies that have already been purified by Master. But most importantly, it’s probably a reflection of our low xinxing level on the matter.
As long as a cultivator solidly and diligently cultivates, truly assimilates to the Fa teachings, and abides by the principles of the Fa, Master is watching over us at every moment. Nothing can harm and injure us in any way. But if one’s xinxing is not adequate, then it would be a different story.
This is my understanding at my level. Please kindly point out anything inappropriate.
