(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners held a rally in Quebec on August 14 to celebrate the 400 million people who have quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations. The event received a warm response from the public.

Rally on Place D'Youville in Quebec on August 14

Quebec City is the capital of the Province of Quebec. It was the first city established by European colonists in North America in the seventeenth century. UNESCO listed the old city as a “World Cultural Heritage Site.” Place d’Youville, where the rally took place that day, is next to the old city wall. Many tourists and local residents were site-seeing and enjoying the beautiful weather.

The Tian Guo Marching Band performed during the rally, and practitioners also demonstrated the exercises. An endless stream of people stopped to watch. Many people said that they were happy to hear that 400 million Chinese people had quit the CCP. Many signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution.

Practitioner Representative Calls on People to Join the Celebration

Ms. Nicole Milot, a practitioner who lives in Quebec City, said that the rally was held to celebrate the withdrawal of 400 million brave Chinese from the CCP and related organizations, and to make more Quebecers and Canadians aware of the dangers of communism.

Ms. Nicole MilotPeople talk with Falun Gong practitioners. People sign the petition.

Ms. Milot said in her speech that the CCP used violence to rule China since it took power, causing 80 million Chinese people to die unnaturally, more than the total number of deaths in the 20th Century’s two world wars. The CCP’s crimes of violating human rights are innumerable. It brutally persecutes Falun Gong, Hong Kong democratic advocates, Tibetans, and Uyghurs. It tortures its own people and even harvests organs from living people. This is a crime that has never been seen on this planet.

In the end, she called on people to join the celebration and say “No” to communism.

“The CCP Destroys Traditional Chinese Culture”

Naomy

After Naomy, a recent graduate web designer, read a flyer she said, “I am in favor of dismantling the CCP. It destroys a traditional China. Culture and history are the status symbols of a country. The CCP destroys traditional Chinese culture, which is unacceptable.”

“This campaign is brave and I fully support it,” she said. “It's important to your people. Keep up the good work. I'll tell my friends to support you.”

Marcel Morin

Marcel Morin, who lives in Quebec City, watched the event for a long time, and said she was happy to hear that 400 million people quit the CCP organizations, “Quitting the party is a good start. More people will follow. It’s very good.”

Marie Leclerc from Lévis, Quebec Province

Marie Leclerc, from Lévis, Quebec, said she supported the withdrawal of 400 million Chinese from the CCP organizations. “The way the CCP controls China is extremely terrifying for the fate of China and humanity,” she said. “Today’s event is very peaceful and inspiring. It made me understand more about what happened in China and the CCP's persecution of different humanitarian groups, democratic groups, and faith groups. Thank you for initiating this and the people who participated in the event.”
