(Minghui.org) I’d like to tell you about a successful operation to rescue practitioners. Although it happened nearly 20 years ago, the entire event is still vivid in my memory.

It was December 2004. Anguo and his wife Bingli were a young couple, both doctors working in a hospital. Their son had been born several months earlier and they were a happy family. They were both respected doctors, knowledgeable and ethical. They were hard-working and always sought to improve. They were considered the “go-to” doctors at the hospital. The leaders of the hospital praised and valued them. But because they practiced Falun Dafa, they were persecuted and became targets to be “transformed” by the director of the hospital.

The director, a middle-aged woman, was an atheist and had no conscience. She followed Jiang Zemin’s persecution policy and actively cooperated with the local police to ruthlessly persecute any Falun Dafa practitioners who worked in the hospital.

Hospital Director Works with the Police to Get the Couple Arrested

Both Anguo and Bingli were on the night shift. Bingli was checking the wards right before the end of her shift when she was alerted to go see the hospital director. On her way there, she noticed police cars parked in the courtyard, officers in uniform standing next to them. Bingli sensed something wasn’t right, because the director would not ask to see her at that time. She decided to leave and walked straight to the gate.

But the director was secretly watching her. When she saw Bingli walking out she shouted, “Where are you going?” Bingli said, “I’m going to get breakfast.” The director said, “I’ll buy it for you.” Bingli immediately knew that the police were there for Falun Dafa practitioners. She quickened her steps to the gate and when she glanced back, she saw that the director was running after her. Bingli quickly ran outside the gate.

She realized that the director was cooperating with the police to get her and her husband arrested. Bingli ran to a market a few hundred meters away, and the director followed her in a taxi. Because Bingli had just gotten off the night shift and had not eaten for hours, the sudden exertion exhausted her and she collapsed. The director arrived and got out of the taxi while talking on her phone. A hospital vehicle soon followed, and the hospital’s office manager and a section chief got out. The director had them carry Bingli to the vehicle.

Bingli was unconscious when she was taken to the hospital and was having difficulty breathing. The director ordered the doctor to give Bingli oxygen and then ordered her to be put into the police car. When another doctor reminded the director, “Bingli’s condition is life-threatening,” the director screamed hysterically, “I’ll send them both to the forced labor camp!” Anguo had already been arrested and was in the police car. The two were taken to a brainwashing center.

In the brainwashing center, Bingli’s health declined rapidly. She frequently had chest pain and difficulty breathing and was unable to eat. The medical staff warned the hospital director as well as the head of the police station, but their warnings were ignored.

The First Phase of Our Rescue Effort

Hours before the couple was arrested, another practitioner told me that Anguo’s father Chong had come to town, so we went to the couple’s home to visit him. Chong told us about the persecution situation in his area and how the practitioners there resisted it. We were both encouraged and left around 11 a.m.

Their home was in the hospital complex and as we walked outside, we noticed many people in the courtyard talking, which was unusual. I asked a doctor I knew what was going on and he told me that the couple had been arrested. I found out the names of the director, the deputy director, and the others who had been involved in their arrest.

I went home and drafted a leaflet titled, “Warning.” I put down the names of the director and deputy director and described how they cooperated with the police to arrest the two doctors. I called for their immediate release and warned that we would otherwise go further. I then went to get it printed.

At that time, there were very few material production sites in the city, and they were all very confidential, so I couldn’t discuss how it should look with the practitioners at the production sites. So I basically just drew the layout I thought best and then asked a practitioner I knew to give it to the material production site.

My unprofessional draft didn’t faze the practitioners at the production site. They did the typesetting and printed hundreds of copies. It was truly well done and the word “Warning” stood out in bold at the top. The content in the middle was just the right size. I was very happy with it.

After everything was ready, I discussed my idea with another practitioner who agreed to help. We decided to put up the “Warning” notice in the hospital first: in the living area, the backyard, the wards, the clinic, the front yard, and the entrance all the way to the side of the road. We walked around inside the hospital to get familiar with the layout.

That night, we followed our plan and first posted the “Warning” signs in the living area and backyard. On our way to the wards, we had to pass the clinic. As we did, I noticed a man sitting in the pharmacy watching us. I said to him in my heart, “We are saving people. Do not interfere with what we are doing.” I also silently asked Master to protect us. After we finished the wards and returned to the clinic, the man was still there. I knew that our compassionate Master was protecting us by not letting him move. We then finished the clinic, the front yard, the entrance, and the outside wall of the hospital. With Master’s protection, everything went well and we didn’t encounter any resistance.

When other practitioners saw what we had posted, they asked us for more copies of it. They told us that the hospital had another residential building outside of the complex where some of the employees lived, including the director. They went there and put up the “Warning” right outside the hospital director’s door. Anyone leaving the building could clearly see it.

We also posted more inside and outside of the other similar-level hospitals and their living areas.

The Second Phase

Two days later, we started the second phase of our rescue effort, which was mainly distributing truth-clarification materials. We distributed them to all the households in the hospital’s living area, so all the hospital employees received a copy. We also put up more posters.

We then planned to go and ask that Anguo and Bingli be released.

We first went to Anguo’s home to discuss our plan with Chong. He was very happy to cooperate with us and said he would go to the hospital and the police station to ask for the couple’s release. We also planned to see the director and ask for their release. We prepared to pressure the director in case she refused to release them, so we wanted to find out more about her family and friends.

For a while, we went to the hospital almost every day in groups of two or three to talk to the director, but she was never there. We asked the other doctors where she was and were told the director had not come to work for several days. Even though we couldn’t see her, we left truth-clarification materials on the door to her office every time. Some people asked us why we kept looking for her, and we always said, “We want to ask for the release of the two doctors Anguo and Bingli.”

Chong went to the director’s home to ask her to release the couple. The director asked Chong, “Do you have any connection with other Falun Dafa practitioners? How did they know everything?” Chong said, “I was just visiting my son. How could I have any connections with the people here? What you did was so stupid. You, the hospital director, chased your own employee all the way to the market. How many people witnessed that?”

The director shouted, “The practitioners have let the entire city know about this and even put me on the Minghui website!”

Chong said, “So what? I intend to find a reporter from Central China’s Television to interview you! That way the whole country and the whole world will know what you did!” The director was embarrassed and speechless.

We learned about the director’s family. Her husband was the deputy director of the CPPCC (Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference) in a certain county and her son was studying in a school in Beijing. We first wrote to the director’s husband to tell him about the horrible things his wife had done in the hospital. This is part of what we wrote to him:

“When Doctor Bingli was still unconscious and on oxygen—and the other doctors repeatedly reminded your wife that she was in a life-threatening condition—your wife, as the director of the hospital, disregarded the life of her own employee and ordered Doctor Bingli to be carried to the police car and then to the police station and brainwashing center. The doctor and her husband were both arrested and had to leave their baby who was just a few months old. Your wife was screaming, ‘I’ll send them both to the forced labor camp!’ Your wife was really trying to kill someone! How could she be so cruel? You need to advise her to release the couple immediately. If not, we will also let the public know about her crimes in your county and your workplace. We will also tell the leaders, teachers, and students in your son’s school all the evil things she did so the entire school will know what kind of person your son’s mother is.”

The Director’s Arrogance Disappears

The day after we posted the “Warning,” the director collected a bag of them and went to Anguo’s home. She threw the bag at Chong and shouted, “Here! Look at what your son did!” He said, “My son? You took my son away. How could he do anything?” The director said, “Who else would know the details?” She left.

She was still arrogant, but her attitude began to change on the third day. She saw that information about the arrest had reached every corner of the hospital. The doctors, nurses, and patients were all reading the notices and talking about what had happened. People from other hospitals in the city who saw the “Warning” about her in their hospitals phoned her.

A few days later, the director was frightened and said, “I thought only Anguo and Bingli practiced Falun Dafa. I didn’t expect there are so many practitioners—and they are all helping them.”

One day, the director brought gifts to Anguo’s home to visit Chong. Before she could say anything, Chong said, “Why are you bringing me these things? I don’t want this stuff! I want my son and daughter-in-law! Give me back my children!” The director hurriedly said, “I’ll bring them back! I’ll bring them back!” Chong said, “You bring them back immediately!” The director said as she left, “Yes, I’ll have them return now!” Chong said, “Take all your things, or I will throw them out for you!”

The director’s arrogance was completely swept away, and she was very embarrassed.

The Director’s Carefully Planned Conspiracy

The couple was released after 30 days. Based on the time they were detained, we could tell that the director wanted to have them sentenced to prison. The reason we knew this was because, at that time, it was easy to get practitioners sent to forced labor camps, as there were no specific rules or regulations that applied to them. Different levels of police station heads and domestic security chiefs could decide to send practitioners to forced labor camps. They could also easily decide who to arrest, when to send them to labor camps, and for how long, without following any legal process.

The director had shouted that she wanted them sent to a forced labor camp, which could be done easily just by the police station chief, yet they were not put in the labor camp while they were detained. That told us that the director and the police were planning carefully to have them sentenced to prison, which would involve more parties, such as the procuratorate and the court.

The police, procuratorates, and the courts are all controlled by the 610 Office and the Political and Legal Affairs Committee. They have no conscience, have no sense of justice or principles, don’t follow the law, and have become tools of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party). This was especially true around 2004 when the persecution was extremely severe. For instance, in July and August 2003, the local police, procuratorate, and court colluded with each other to wrongfully sentence to prison five Falun Dafa practitioners all at once, to 13, 11, 11, 5, and 3 years.

The director wanted to have the couple sentenced in order to establish her authority, show her power, and to intimidate others. But in the end, she became frightened and didn’t dare go ahead with her plan. She saw how righteous Falun Dafa practitioners are and the power of our concerted efforts. She later told Anguo that she couldn’t take anymore. In the end, she gave up on putting the couple in prison or a labor camp and let them return to work.

We went to see the couple after they returned home. Anguo told us that the director said to him, “We will accept whatever you ask. Both of you can return to work right away. All I need you to do is to settle this matter, Don’t post or distribute anything more about this. I can’t take any more. All my relatives and friends are constantly calling and asking about it.” I asked Anguo about the 2,000 yuan that the hospital owed him and he said the director had already agreed to give it to him.

Through this incident, we truly realized the importance of timely rescue efforts and exposing the perpetrators’ crimes. Anguo and Bingli were able to return to work right away. It has now been almost two decades, and they have not encountered any further trouble at work due to their practice of Falun Dafa.

Why Was the Rescue Successful?

1. We had no fear and only focused on rescuing practitioners. We clarified the truth to the local people and we stopped the director from committing more crimes.

2. We did what we had to do in a timely manner, had a clear goal, and made sure what we did would make a strong impact. We planned ahead of time to not give the perpetrators time to take action to hinder our efforts.

3. We found out about the director’s family as soon as we could and wrote to them to clarify the truth. This increased the pressure on them overall and served as a deterrent, helping to convince the director that releasing the couple was the best course of action. This also prevented her family members from committing crimes against Dafa.

This was in 2004 when the CCP persecution was the most severe. This successful rescue was the result of Master’s help and a manifestation of the extraordinary power of Dafa.

During the process, Master was constantly protecting us and enlightening us, giving us strong righteous thoughts, courage, and wisdom. At the same time, with Master’s help, the materials we posted and distributed were given magnificent powers and played a huge role. The evildoers panicked, overwhelmed by our efforts, and they finally had to give up and release the couple.
