(Minghui.org) After a Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province resident was arrested for his faith in Falun Gong, the authorities interrogated him and forcibly pressed his fingerprint on an unknown document, before allowing him to go home.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Jin Jian, a Tianpeng Town Police Station officer, and several masked officers broke into Mr. Zhao Guoyou’s home at 11:30 a.m. on August 25, 2022. Mr. Zhao demanded to see their IDs and search warrant. Jin claimed that he didn’t bring his ID and showed a search warrant without a signature.
The officers searched Mr. Zhao’s bedroom but didn’t find things related to Falun Gong. One officer surnamed Xiong pushed Mr. Zhao into a police car and took him to the Tianpeng Town Police Station.
Mr. Zhao was kept in a small room. A group of people videotaped him. They also ordered him to sign a statement to renounce Falun Gong and took turns interrogating him. Mr. Zhao questioned who they were, but they remained silent.
An officer surnamed Li later came and ordered Mr. Zhao to sign the interrogation record. He claimed that the group of offices came from the “Chengdu City Care Center,” a brainwashing center in disguise under the Political and Legal Affairs Committee (an extra-judiciary agency tasked with overseeing the persecution of Falun Gong). Mr. Zhao refused to sign the paperwork.
After four hours of a standoff, officers grabbed Mr. Zhao by the neck, forced open his fist, pressed his fingerprints on a document, and left. The police then took Mr. Zhao home.
