(Minghui.org) Five Zhucheng City, Shandong Province residents are scheduled to appear in court on September 28, 2022, for their faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Li Hongmei, Ms. Zheng Zhimei, Ms. Xu Huancui, Mr. Luo Wenxin, and his wife Ms. Li Yeshu were arrested on March 4, 2022, and had their homes ransacked. They were all interrogated through torture. The police later took the practitioners to the Zhucheng City Brainwashing Center and held them there until April 19. Another practitioner, Ms. Li Mingxia, who was arrested with them, was later released and cleared of prosecution.
Officers of the Zhucheng City Domestic Security Office first submitted the five practitioners’ cases to the Zhucheng City Procuratorate. After the procuratorate returned the cases citing insufficient evidence, the police transferred the cases to the Gaomi City Procuratorate, which then indicted the practitioners. The practitioners are now facing trial by the Gaomi City Court.
