(Minghui.org) A Huaihua City, Hunan Province resident was recently harassed for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
When Ms. Huang Yuanju stepped out to run an errand at around 10 a.m. on August 29, 2022, she was surrounded by eight plainclothes officers waiting outside her home. They attempted to take her to their police station for interrogation.
After a few minutes of standoff, one of Ms. Huang’s family members arrived, having rushed to her home upon learning what happened. He demanded that whoever attempted to take her away leave a note with their name so he knew whom to hold accountable should anything happen to her. No officer was willing to reveal their names.
After another hour of standoff, the police’s supervisors agreed for them to question her outside of her home. The police turned on a camera to videotape Ms. Huang for the interrogation. Her family member then videotaped the officers.
The officers asked Ms. Huang many questions about her practice of Falun Gong. She refused to answer any of the questions, knowing that whatever she said would be used against her.
Ms. Huang later confirmed that Zhou Enji and Li Ye of Huaihua Police Department, and Li Yong and Jiang of the Railroad Police Department, were among the officers who harassed her.
Other than Ms. Huang, another eight practitioners, including Tang Qingying, Zhong Liancong, Xue Baoyu, Chen Quanying, Yin Qiuyang, Xiao Guiying, Wu Fangming and Huang Yuanqiao, were arrested on the same day, either at their homes or while they were walking on the street. Except Zhong who is still detained, the other practitioners have been released at the time of writing.
