(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 10 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Li Detained
Ms. Zhang Li, 61, was arrested at her home in the Haidian District on October 11, 2022. Her computer, Falun Gong books, and other items were confiscated. She has been held in the Haidian Detention Center.
She is her 80-year-old mother-in-law’s only caregiver.
2. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zeng Fanfeng Sentenced
Ms. Zeng Fanfeng from Pengzhou City was sentenced to five years in prison and fined more than 10,000 yuan by the Pengzhou City Court on the morning of December 22, 2022. It is unknown where she is imprisoned.
3. [Zunyi City, Guizhou Province] Practitioners Harassed and Detained
Ms. Peng Wanqin was arrested before the 20th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party (October 16, 2022 – October 22, 2022). Her home was ransacked. She was held in multiple detention centers. She is currently held in the Zunyi No. 1 Detention Center.
Ms. Wang Youfen’s home was ransacked by director Dai Yongxian and officers from the Huichuan District Domestic Security Division at noon on December 21, 2022. They seized more than 1,400 yuan in paper currency with Falun Gong messages printed on them. They claimed that they would detain her husband for more than ten days. She stayed away from home to avoid further persecution.
Ms. Ren Jiazhen was harassed three times by the Honghuagang Police Department officers around the 20th National Congress of CCP. They seized her Falun Gong books and other items. Afterwards, police station officers and residential committee clerks went to her home and ordered her to sign documents renouncing Falun Gong.
4. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Suqing about to Complete Prison Term
Ms. Xu Suqing was arrested at home and sentenced to 18 months in prison. She will complete her prison term on January 27, 2023.
5. [Beijing] Ms. Xie Shuyun Missing for More Than Ten Years
Ms. Xie Shuyun was a care worker in Beijing People’s Hospital when she disappeared after she delivered a Falun Gong printout to a fellow practitioner in 2010. She has been missing since. She was in her 50s then. She is now in her 60s.
6. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Wang Jinxian Imprisoned for 14 Years
Ms. Wang Jinxian was sentenced four times and imprisoned for 14 years.The first sentence was four years, from March 23, 2007 to March 22, 2011.The second one was three years, from April 9, 2012 to April 8, 2015.The third one was three years, from May 22, 2015 to May 21, 2018.The fourth one was four years, from February 1, 2019 to January 31, 2023.
She was tortured while she was illegally detained or imprisoned. The abusers sprayed pepper water into her eyes. She was forced to sit on a tiny bench or hand-write prison rule for hours without a break. She was constantly monitored and cursed at by inmates. Her hands became frostbitten in winter after she hand-wrote prison rules for hours. The guards slapped her, did not allow her to use toilet paper, and did not allow her to have a blanket while she slept. She was repeatedly confined in an isolation cell.
7. [Chongqing] Ms. Zeng Arrested
Ms. Zeng of the Banan District was arrested on December 30, 2022, for talking to people about Falun Gong and distributing Falun Gong flyers. She was released 26 hours later.
8. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhao Yuxian Missing
Ms. Zhao Yuxian from Shanhe Town, Wuchang City, has been missing since December 27, 2022. She was tracked, monitored, and harassed by Fu Guoxun from the Shanhe Forestry Bureau Domestic Security Division since September 2022.
