(Minghui.org) My father suddenly developed a high fever of 39°C (102.2°F) the day before the 2021 Chinese New Year. The fever triggered a severe asthma-like attack, and he was so short of breath that he could not lie down. We rushed him to the hospital.
He was diagnosed with severe heart disease and pleural effusion. He was immediately admitted to intensive care unit (ICU) and hooked up to all kinds of equipment. Since my father was nearly 80, the doctor suggested conservative treatment only, avoiding surgery. The doctor also used a diuretic to remove the fluid in his chest cavity and said he might need the medicine for the rest of his life.
I asked my father to recite “Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” Hours later, his temperature was back to the normal 36.7°C (98.1°F).
Around 8 a.m. the next morning, when the doctor made his rounds, my father’s blood pressure and temperature were normal, and he was no longer short of breath. He did not look like a critically ill patient at all. We asked the doctor if my father could he be discharged for the New Year since he was doing a lot better. The doctor agreed.
When we came home that afternoon, my brother and his wife were shocked. They could not believe our father was sent home, as he had been so seriously ill! They were amazed by the power of the auspicious phrases!
My father began to watch Dafa lecture videos, and also read Zhuan Falun, the main book of Falun Dafa. While reading the book, my father’s celestial vision opened! He saw Master in a yellow kasaya and a Bodhisattva in a sky-blue robe. He also saw a broken body being carried away in a box, and then he stepped onto a big ship. There were many people on it, and they sailed across the ocean and reached the other side of the bank.
We realized that Master removed a huge amount of karma for my father. The broken body he saw might be the body formed by his karma. My father was weak, but he no longer had any chest pain or fluid in his chest cavity, and he could sleep without any problem.
My father and my family are deeply grateful for Master’s compassionate salvation!
