“… there are some people who, when seeking divine help in times of duress, haven’t been satisfied with the outcome, and started to loathe God—even turning against Him as a result.”
This is exactly what happened to my mother.
I went back to my hometown for the Lunar New Year. When I brought up the auspicious phrases “Falun Dafa is good and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance,” my mother suddenly became very offensive and accused me and other practitioners of lying to her.
She had always been supportive of my practice of Falun Dafa, so I was really baffled by her sudden change. Did she watch too much TV with the communist regime’s propaganda?
On Chinese New Year’s Eve, I visited the Minghui website and saw Master’s new article How Humankind Came To Be. I was shocked, and realized that it has never been more urgent to save people.
Later in the evening, it suddenly dawned on me that despite the atheism indoctrination by the communist regime, my mother, who grew up in the countryside, has always believed in the divine. Because her life had not been easy under the communist regime’s rule, she begged many gods but didn’t see any good fortune coming her way. It was probably due to this reason that she had built up hatred towards and disbelief in the divine.
I talked to my mother again and said: “People in the past worshiped the divine without any condition; people in modern times only pray to the divine for things such as good fortune or happiness; and if they do not get what they prayed for, they will hate the divine.”
“Mother, we cannot be like that. The divine has always been there, and they will give us what we ask for, but only if we are entitled to it, meaning that we have accumulated enough blessing from our previous lives. Only by being a good person, doing more good deeds and accumulating virtue, can our wish be fulfilled, even if we don’t ask the divine for it.”
My mother was receptive and flashed a gentle and happy smile.
When the NTDTV broadcast Master’s “How Humankind Came To Be” on the next day, I asked my mother to watch it. “It must be something urgent for human beings. This is the first time my Master has written an article for everyone in the world to see.”
I came to the realization that the new article of Master is offering salvation to all human beings, including those who believed in the divine, but had lost their faith because of disappointment.
