(Minghui.org) A 65-year-old woman in Qianjiang City, Hubei Province, has been detained since her arrest on January 21, 2022, for talking to people about Falun Gong.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. You Xuefei was an award-winning employee of the Qianjiang City Printing Factory before she retired. Due to the one-child policy, when she was seven months pregnant, she was seized at work and forced to have an abortion during the 1980s. She was devastated. The years of hard work also took a toll on her health. She took medications and had injections all year long but still struggled with different health issues.
Shortly after Ms. You took up Falun Gong, she regained her health. For talking to several students about Falun Gong, she was arrested in late 2021. She was released a week later, but the police arrested her again on January 21, 2022, and held her in the Qianjiang City Detention Center since.
When Ms. You’s mother, in her 80s, went to the Qianjiang City Procuratorate to inquire about her daughter on May 26, 2022, the receptionist said that her case had been transferred to the Hanjiang Procuratorate, which then moved it to the Xiantao City Procuratorate two months later.
The current status of Ms. You’s case is unclear. Her husband and mother are anxious for her to be released.
