(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 23 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Linshu County, Shandong Province] The Case Against Ms. Li Xia Submitted to the Procuratorate
Ms. Li Xia from Linshu County of Linyi City was arrested at her home on July 3, 2023, and was sent to the Linyi City Detention Center. Her case was submitted to the procuratorate.
2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xiao Kun and Ms. Xiao Yang Arrested
Several officers including Shi Wei from the Acheng District Police Department arrested Ms. Xiao Kun and her sister Ms. Xiao Yang on the afternoon of August 23, 2023. The police ransacked their home and confiscated about 100 Falun Gong books, several photos of Falun Gong's founder, a laptop, a printer, and several cell phones. The sisters were interrogated until midnight. Ms. Xiao Yang was released that night but Ms. Xiao Kun was taken to the No.2 Detention Center of Harbin City and was placed under official arrest.
3. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Hu Xuefei and Her Husband Mr. Yang Bin Face Trial
Ms. Hu Xuefei and her husband Mr. Yang Bin were arrested by police in the Xinhua District on May 11, 2023. The police ransacked their home and their storage place. The couple’s daughter attends an overseas university and is now facing financial difficulties.
The couple will be tried in the Longcheng District Court on September 27, 2023.
4. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zou Huaxiang Faces Trial
Ms. Zou Huaxiang, in her 70s, will be tried in Hall 26 of Rongcheng Court at 9 a.m. on September 28, 2023. The judge is Wang Dongmei and the prosecutor is Sun.
5. [Beijing] Mr. Yan Feng and Ms. Yang Zhihong Arrested
Mr. Yan Feng and Ms. Yang Zhihong from the Tongzhou District were arrested in No. 5 of the Chemical Industry District of Xinji City on the morning of September 21, 2023, by officers from Beijing and the Zhanqian Police Station in Xinji City. The police ransacked the home and confiscated their Falun Gong books and the photo of Falun Gong's founder. The two practitioners were escorted to Beijing on the afternoon of September 21, 2023.
6. [Rongcheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhao Lihong Arrested
Ms. Zhao Lihong, 63, was arrested at a supermarket in Shidao Development District by officers from the Taoyuan Border Police Station on the afternoon of September 19, 2023. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
7. [Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Li Ailin Arrested
Ms. Li Ailin from Hailar District was reported to police for distributing information about Falun Gong and was arrested by officers from the No. 3 Police Station in Hailar District in early April 2023. Her home was ransacked. She was threatened and interrogated in the police station which caused her to have heart palpitations and she had trouble breathing. The police were afraid to take responsibility and called her son to take her home. Ms. Li passed away on May 10, 2023, at the age of 66.
8. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Du Juan Arrested
Ms. Du Juan from Xiaoliu Village in Yuanshi County, was arrested by officers from the Sijiazhuang Town Police Station in Luquan District and from the Yincun Police Station in Yuanshi County on the morning of September 14, 2023. The reason for her arrest was due to an incident ten years ago.
Ms. Du Juan and two other practitioners were arrested in May 2014 when they talked to people about Falun Gong in Sijiazhuang Town, Luquan District. One practitioner was later sentenced to three years in prison. Ms. Du Juan and the other practitioner were released after being detained for days.
9. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Gong Maofu Arrested and Detained
Mr. Gong Maofu from Tanbu Town was reported to police for distributing information about Falun Gong in a market and was arrested by officers from the Tanbu Police Station on the morning of August 16, 2023. His home was ransacked that afternoon and all his Falun Gong books were confiscated. Mr. Gong was taken to the Linyi City Detention Center.
10. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhang Weifeng and Ms. Xie Xiuzhen Tried in Court
Jiangbei New District police arrested 15 practitioners on October 15, 2022. Most of them were released except for Ms. Zhang Weifeng and Ms. Xie Xiuzhen, who were sent to a detention center. The two practitioners were tried in court in June 2023 but the verdict has not yet been announced.
11. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhong Arrested
Ms. Zhong, around 60, was arrested by officers from the Hongmiaopo Police Station on September 8, 2023.
12. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Caixia Arrested and Detained
Ms. Zhao Caixia lives in Guajing Village, Liuying Town, Yongnian District. She was arrested by officers from the Yongnian District Police Department on the evening of September 13, 2023. Ms. Zhao was detained for 11 days and was released on September 24, 2023.
13. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhan Yanyan Harassed
Some people including Li Deshan from the Fengtai Police Station went to Ms. Zhan Yanyan’s home on July 3, 2023. They checked her ID and asked a lot of questions. Ms. Zhan refused to cooperate. Those people searched her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and MP3 player. When one of them tried to photograph her, she stopped him. He then attempted to videotape her.
Ms. Zhan received a call from the Baishahe Police Station on September 22, 2023, which she didn’t answer. Then her husband received a call from the police station, demanding to know where Ms. Zhan was and threatening to arrest her.
14. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zu Yu Arrested
Mr. Zu Yu lives in Shuangquan Village, Mamuchi Township, Yinan County, Linyi City. Several officers, led by the village official, went to his home on the afternoon of September 22, 2023. They ransacked his home and confiscated several Falun Gong books, an MP4 player, a cell phone, and two posters. Mr. Zu was taken to the Mamuchi Police Station for interrogation. They intended to detain Mr. Zu for 15 days, but he was denied admission due to his high blood pressure and was released.
15. [Yingtan City, Jiangxi Province] The Case Against Ms. Cheng Laihua Submitted to the Court
The case against Ms. Cheng Laihua has been submitted to the court.
16. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xiao Hua Arrested
Ms. Xiao Hua from Dongning City was arrested on September 19, 2023.
17. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gao Xu’e Tried in Court
Ms. Gao Xu’e from Jiaozhou City was tried by the Huangdao District Court in Qingdao City at 9 a.m. on September 25, 2023.
