(Minghui.org) Although it has been 13 years, memories of the experience and the support I received while being held in a detention center are still vivid in my mind.

Several practitioners and I were arrested and taken to the detention center in 2010. We didn’t cooperate with the guards, and continued doing the exercises and sending forth righteous thoughts. We also took every opportunity to tell the other detainees about Falun Dafa. We received a lot of support and most agreed to quit the Chinese Communist Party. Some learned to recite poems written by Master Li, the founder of Dafa. One woman of Korean ethnicity, who was wrongfully detained, became especially close to us. She was good at singing, so we taught her several songs written by Dafa practitioners.

To protest the persecution, I held a hunger strike. The guards arranged people to force feed me. My cellmates were worried and tried to persuade me to stop the hunger strike. A detainee tried to please the guard by beating me and verbally abusing me. That Korean woman argued with her and they ended up getting into a big fight.

The guards insisted on force feeding me. They turned a blind eye, even when a detainee suffered a heart attack.

After they left, a 19-year-old detainee secretly told me, “The guard ordered me to prepare some soy milk to force feed you with. They also asked me to add a lot of salt to it. When she wasn’t looking, I threw away the salt.” I was touched that she was willing to risk her own safety to protect me.

Another practitioner Cai was held in solitary confinement. The guards restrained her to the bed and didn’t allow her to eat or use the restroom. Several practitioners and I protested it and we said to the guards, “What’s wrong with us following Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance? Even a death row prisoner has the right to eat and use the restroom. Why do you torture her like that?” The guards didn’t say anything. That night, Cai was taken back to the regular cell.
