1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Zhang Guoyan in Police Custody
Zhang Guoyan (gender unknown) from the Taihai Residential Community was arrested on the morning of October 31, 2023, after someone reported that he or she distributed desk calendars with information about Falun Gong in the Hongwei Road morning market. Zhang’s home was ransacked. He or she is being held in the Daowai Police Department.
2. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xi Guoxiu Arrested
Ms. Xi Guoxiu lives in the Hanyang District. Officers from the Sixin Police Station followed her home after someone reported her around October 25, 2023. They arrested her and ransacked her home. Her whereabouts are unknown.
3. [Chongqing] Ms. Zheng Xiaoqin Arrested
Ms. Zheng Xiaoqin in the Yubei District was arrested in front of her apartment building by Yubei District police when she was heading to work around October 24, 2023.
4. [Xinyu City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Liu Simei Arrested
Ms. Liu Simei was arrested by officers from the Yushui District Police Department in early September 2023. There have been no updates about her for two months.
5. [Beijing] Ms. Tang Linna Detained
Ms. Tang Linna was arrested at her parents’ home on 26 Fuxing Road by officer Zhou Jie and others from the Wanshou Road Police Station on the evening of October 27, 2023. They confiscated her notebook computer and other personal belongings. She is being held in the Haidian District Administrative Detention Center for 10 days.
6. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Jinfeng Detained
Ms. Xu Jinfeng lives in Shuangmiao Village, Dulangkou Town. She was arrested in her apartment by Chiping District Domestic Security Division officers on October 31, 2023. She was taken to the police department and then to the Liaocheng City Detention Center.
7. [Fuzhou City, Fujian Province] Mr. Zhang Jing Released after Finishing Prison Term
Even though Mr. Zhang Jing’s prison term ended on November 3, 2023, the guards did not release him to his family. They said that they would only release him to clerks from their neighborhood office and told his mother to wait in that office. His parents were so worried that they couldn’t sleep, and his father’s health suffered. Mr. Zhang is now home.
8. [Xintai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Niu Rongtian Detained
Ms. Niu Rongtian, in her 60s, was arrested in early October 2023 for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked. Her Falun Gong books and audio players were confiscated. She was detained for two weeks.
9. [Yinan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Hongmei Detained
Mr. Wang Hongmei, 56, was arrested around October 25, 2023. The police searched her home and seized many 2024 desk calendars with messages about Falun Gong printed on them. She is being held in the Linyi City Detention Center.
10. [Shanghai] Items Missing from Ms. Zhou Meijuan’s Home
Ms. Zhou Meijuan lives in Yulan Second Village, Anting Town in the Jiading District. She realized items were missing from her home during the Asia Games in Hangzhou. A bright blue U-drive inside a TV cabinet was gone. The lowest metal handle of a red metal chest was broken. There was no indication that the windows or doors had been broken into.
11. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Miao Zhongjun’s and Ms. Li Xuesong’s Cases Moved to Intermediate Court
Mr. Miao Zhongjun from the Xincheng District and Ms. Li Xuesong from the Weiyang District appealed to the Xi’an City Intermediate Court after they were sentenced in the Lianhu Court. Mr. Miao’s hearing is scheduled for the morning of December 14, 2023. Ms. Li’s hearing has not yet been scheduled.
12. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Update on Mass Arrest in Gaomi City in 2022
Forty-three people, including 37 practitioners, were arrested during a mass arrest in Gaomi City on June 24, 2022. All of them were released on bail and have been placed under six months’ residential surveillance.
