1. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhao Lihong Faces Trial
Ms. Zhao Lihong from the Economic and Technological Development Zone was reported to the police for clarifying the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong, and was arrested by officers from the Fulai Police Station on April 17, 2022. She was subsequently released on bail for one year.
On June 8, 2022, the police station submitted Ms. Zhao’s case file to the procuratorate. In August, her case was brought to the court.
On January 28, 2023, a court clerk notified Ms. Zhao that her trial was scheduled on February 6.
2. [ Yantai City, Shandong Province] Tian Bao Arrested
Tian Bao (gender unknown) from the Zhifu District was arrested by officers from the Shihuiyao Police Station on January 30, 2023. The officers also ransacked Tian’s home.
3. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Mr. Gao Peifa and Mr. Gao Wenlong Held in Custody
Mr. Gao Peifa, 61, from Erjie Town, Jinning District, Anning City, was arrested by members of the Anning City 610 Office, Domestic Security officers, and officers from the local police station when he was working at Factory 450 in Erjie Town, on October 10, 2022. He was held in the Anning Detention Center and then transferred to Songming County Detention Center. On December 5, 2022, he was transferred to the Anning City Detention Center.
Mr. Gao Wenlong, 59, from Shunmin Township, Erjie Town, was arrested at home by members of the Anning City 610 Office, Domestic Security officers, and officers from the local police station on November 1, 2022. He was held in the Songming County Detention Center. On December 5, 2022, he was transferred to the Anning City Detention Center.
4. [Donggang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Mei Sentenced to Prison Again
Ms. Liu Mei was sentenced to two years in prison and fined 3,000 yuan on December 29, 2022.
She appealed to the Dandong City Intermediate Court. The No. 2 Criminal Tribunal of the intermediate court has accepted the case. A trial may scheduled after February 5, 2023.
5. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Shuxian Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Yang Shuxian from Rongzhuang Village, Yuguan Town, Funing District, was reported to the police for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong at Yuguan Town Farmers Market in June 2022. She was arrested and taken to a detention center. During her physical examination at the public security hospital, she was found to have lung problems, and was subsequently released on bail for one year.
Ms. Yang was sentenced to three years and four months in prison by the Funing District Court on December 8, 2022. She was also ordered to pay a fine. Ms. Yang will be taken to prison to serve the term after Chinese New Year’s Day on January 22, 2023.
6. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Mei Arrested
Ms. Liu Mei from Jincheng Sub-district was arrested at home by officers from the Dalinghe Town Police Station on January 28, 2023.
While at the police station, after Ms. Liu showed the officers a new article by Master, “How Humankind Came to Be,” she returned home safely after 11 o’clock that night.
7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xia Yulan Arrested
Ms. Xia Yulan from Wuchang District was arrested at home by Zhongnan Sub-district Committee personnel, the local police, and community security guards on the morning of January 28, 2023. They ransacked her home and confiscated all of her Falun Dafa books. She has returned home.
8. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Guizhen Arrested
Ms. Sun Guizhen from Shouguang City was arrested and taken to the Shichang Police Station on the morning to January 29, 2023, when she was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong at the Sangjiazhuang farmers market. Ms. Sun did not cooperate with the officers in the police station, refused to answer questions, and did not sign any paperwork. Her family took her home around 5 p.m.
