(Minghui.org) Shortly after the COVID pandemic restrictions eased in our area, practitioners started distributing the 2023 desk calendars with Dafa information written in them. After our group Fa study, we reflected on our work. Some practitioners said that it was more difficult distributing the calendars this year, especially in the shopping areas. Business owners were not as active in taking our calendars as they were in prior years. I only wished to know why?
After discussing this issue we came to the conclusion that it was the old forces’ interference. We should not acknowledge the illusion arranged by them. The calendar designed by the Minghui website is beautiful, bright, and inspiring. The back of the calendar contains information and short stories taken from the Minghui website. Many people say these stories are touching and insightful. A special way to clarify the truth, the calendars are great and precious materials. Thus, we understood that we should proactively send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate all the disrupting factors and evil elements that interfere with the saving of sentient beings. We should disintegrate all notions the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) instilled in people’s minds that made them afraid of taking the calendars.
A notion was formed in my mind: It is difficult to distribute the new Minghui calendars for 2023. But this notion interferes with my saving people.
I went to distribute the new calendars in the morning and met an elderly couple. We talked about everyday matters, and they were both very happy. Then we talked about the pandemic and health, and they were still in a good mood. However, when I offered them a new desk calendar, the woman said, “We don’t need desk calendars, we prefer wall calendars.”
I said, “Our desk calendars are beautifully designed, and it’s called ‘Heavenly Cherubs Bringing Good News’.”
The moment the man saw the calendar, his face clouded over, saying, “Why are you still distributing these things? Don’t do it!”
When I asked why, his wife said, “Please leave us alone, we can’t accept your calendar!”
The man continued, “I have a few coworkers who were sentenced to prison terms because of their belief in Falun Dafa.”
I continued, “Falun Dafa teaches us to be better people. But the illegal imprisonment, and forced labor detention are inhumane.”
A few moments later, he said to me angrily, “If the government doesn’t allow you to practice Falun Dafa, you just give it up! Neither should you distribute these calendars.”
I responded, “The calendars cannot speak, neither can they beat you or curse at you. What makes you so afraid? It’s up to you whether you take them home. You don’t have to be so upset!” He urged his wife to leave.
I reflected on this incident, and said to myself, “These beautiful calendars are powerful tools that save sentient beings, so I should eliminate my notion that ‘They’re difficult to distribute.’ The old forces tried to make me suffer a setback, but I shouldn’t get discouraged by their tricks.” I began to send forth righteous thoughts as I was walking. I went to a nearby park, hoping to meet someone with a predestined relationship.
There were only a few people in the park that morning. An elderly man was sitting, smoking a cigarette. I greeted him and asked how he was doing. “Great! Great! I’m great!” he replied. He said he was 81 years old.
I continued to say, “I have a gift for you. It’s a beautifully designed 2023 desk calendar called ‘Heavenly Cherubs Bringing Good News’. Would you like it?” I took it out of my handbag while I was talking.
He was very pleased, saying, “I like it! I like it!” He grabbed the calendar and hurriedly opened it to read the words on it. While he was reading the calendar he said, “Thank you so much for producing these calendars! They are gorgeous. I like the calendars very much, but it’s difficult to find them!”
I told him that Falun Dafa is an advanced practice of self-cultivation from the Buddha School and that this practice guides one to cultivate Buddhahood. I continued to explain that the self-immolation incident in Tiananmen Square was staged to incite hatred against Dafa practitioners. I told him not to believe in the CCP’s attempts to deceive the Chinese people and to keep the goodness in mind despite the chaos in society. He told me that he already knew the truth about Falun Dafa and that he also knew the wicked nature of the CCP. I said, “Please remember, ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.’”
“Yes! Yes!” he replied. “Thank you again for giving me this calendar. I like it very much!”
An elderly man sat by the pond about 20 meters from where we were, staring at the water. I went over and greeted him. I asked him if he would like a desk calendar.
He immediately replied, “Yes, yes! I would.” When I handed it to him, he couldn’t wait to open it and read it. He thanked me a few times. I told him about Dafa, and he said, “I know Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” He thanked me a few more times.
As there were very few people in the park, I went back to the main street. I walked to the bus station and met a woman in her 50s with a girl around 5 waiting for the bus. I said to the woman, “I’d like to give you a beautiful 2023 desk calendar called ‘Heavenly Cherubs Bringing Good News’. Would you like it?”
“Yes, yes!” She replied, “Thank you so much!” She continued, “We were struck by many disasters in recent years, and we’ve been suffering from the coronavirus pandemic. I believe there are gods watching everywhere, and I believe Falun Dafa is good.”
I said, “It’s good that you know the truth about Dafa, but have you heard that ‘Quitting the Party and its youth organizations can keep you safe’?”
“No,” she responded, “I just know Falun Dafa is good, and that people who practice Dafa are good people, but I don’t know what it means to quit the Party.”
After I told her why it’s important to quit the CCP organizations, she agreed to do so. She was about to board the bus, so I put the calendar in her handbag. She turned to me and said, “You don’t have to put it in my bag, I’m not afraid at all!” and held it in the original transparent plastic bag. I was deeply touched by her righteous actions, and I felt that people in China are awakening to the truth.
I walked two more streets and saw a cleaning woman. I went over and greeted her, after some small talk, I asked if she would like a desk calendar. “I’d like it!” she replied, “I receive your calendars every year, but I haven’t got the new one.” She thanked me several times.
I met another predestined person on a different street. She had just bought things from the supermarket. I asked if she would like a 2023 desk calendar. She immediately replied, “Yes! Thank you so much!” She continued, “I have a good friend. It would be wonderful if I could have one to give to her!”
I reached into my bag and handed her another one. She was extremely happy, and exclaimed, “It’s so nice of you! Otherwise, I would have to give her mine.”
I usually clarify the truth to people face to face, and distribute truth-clarification materials and pamphlets. This was the first day that I distributed the 2023 desk calendars. After reflecting on my day, I understood that if we have righteous thoughts and actions, and don’t get interfered with by negative thoughts and illusions, we will be successful in saving sentient beings!
