(Minghui.org) I began practicing Falun Dafa in 2003. During my 19 years of cultivation, with Master’s protection, when I faced personal issues I was able to improve with righteous thoughts. However, problems surfaced when I faced situations with an ordinary person’s mindset.

I was arrested and detained for three months when en route to attend a medical conference in Beijing in March 2016. I work as a physician. The toothbrush at the detention center was poor quality. One of my back molars became loose. Remembering that my grandfather started losing his teeth in his 60s, I thought it might be genetic. The condition of my teeth subsequently worsened. Last year, three of my molars were extracted. Since the bone below my gum line was too thin, bone powders had to be injected before dental implants. The procedure went well. Worried about infection, I took an antibiotic a few days later as I was feeling discomfort in the area. Within half an hour, I had a heavy nose bleed. In the next four days, the bloody drainage from my nostrils became foul pus. My mouth was filled with bone powder.

I had two choices: Either follow the routine medical procedure, which would be to immediately remove the injected bone powder, clean the wound, and start an antibiotic drip, or follow the path of a cultivator with strong righteous thoughts.

Why did this happen? Facing tests in cultivation, I was often able to handle them with righteous thoughts and faith in Master and the Fa. But I sometimes responded to them just as would an ordinary person. When my molars became loose, I worried about my teeth and blamed the situation on a poor quality toothbrush. I thought my loose teeth were genetic, and bone powder might cause infections. When these thoughts emerged I did not deny them with righteous thoughts. Instead, I accepted them. Worrying about my teeth was just like asking for the old forces to interfere. They took advantage of the opportunity, which caused the problem.

Master said:

“As true practitioners, we should look at issues from a very high level instead of from the perspective of everyday people. Should you believe that you are ill, this may really cause you to become ill.” (Lecture Six, Zhuan Falun)

I decided to live up to the standard of a cultivator and negate the thought that something was wrong, and I stopped using medications. I went about my day and let Master decide my fate. Whatever the consequences, I would have no regret.

Instead of worrying about my teeth I focused on reading the Fa and doing the exercises. The drainage stopped after a few days, but started again. Staying calm, I held my belief in Master and the Fa. Three more days passed, the drainage completely stopped, and I was fine.

This experience showed me the seriousness of cultivation. Master suffered so much to extend the time we have for cultivation. I must treasure this precious time, cultivate well, and save more sentient beings.
