(Minghui.org) My hometown is in a rural area in a mountainous region of Human Province. When I went back to visit, I met both the former and current Party secretaries of the village.
I met the former Party secretary at my neighbor’s house when I went to help their family with a funeral. When I was talking to my uncle about Falun Dafa and teaching him to recite the phrases “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” the secretary overheard us. He came up to me and asked, “What did you say?” I told him how wonderful Falun Dafa is and about how its practitioners are persecuted. I also told him about the two phrases.
When I ran into him again, he was riding an electric bike. He hailed me from far away and then came closer to me. He leaned forward and whispered in my ear, “Will you please tell me those two phrases again? I couldn’t remember them all.”
I gave him an amulet with the two phrases on it. He smiled as he took it and thanked me.
I met the current Party secretary in the village at my mother-in-law’s house. He has held that position for over 20 years. We chatted for a while before dinner.
I knew he grew up in a town that is well-known for martial arts. He was good at martial arts too. I told him that one cultivates high-level martial arts by emphasizing virtue and cultivating mindfulness, not by practice. I also talked to him about the persecution of Falun Dafa by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). He agreed with me.
When COVID ravaged across China, I met the current secretary again at my mother-in-law’s house. I asked him if he had been infected. He said that almost everyone he knew had tested positive except for him and his mother. I told him that, in my understanding, the pandemic was a warning from heaven due to the CCP’s evil history, including the Cultural Revolution, the one-child policy, the June 1989 Tiananmen massacre of innocent students, and the persecution of Falun Dafa.
I told him, “It is an evil organization, anti-god and anti-Buddha. Do you think Buddha will protect members of this organization?”
He understood and wanted to quit the CCP. “How?” he asked. I told him that I could help him. I also told him that he could quit it with a pseudonym to protect his safety.
He replied, “No, I will use my real name. The CCP is truly evil. Yesterday we were instructed to track down all close contacts of those who tested positive and today we were told to lift all restrictions! How can it jump from one extreme to another in one day!”
