1. [Xiamen City, Fujian Province] Ms. Wang Juxiang Faces Trial
Ms. Wang Juxiang was arrested at home by officers from the Xiamen City Domestic Security Division, the Jimei District Domestic Security Division, and the Fengan Police Station on June 19, 2022. The officers ransacked her place, and seized her computer, several cell phones, Falun Gong books, and other belongings. She was taken to the Jimei District Police Department. She is facing a trial.
2. [Suning County, Hebei Province] Mr. Wu Wensong Detained
Mr. Wu Wensong, 69, distributed Falun Gong flyers in Ziyoukou Village, Shisu Township on the evening of March 4, 2023. A villager reported him, and he was arrested by officers from the Shisu Township Police Station. Suning County Domestic Security Division director Miao Shengli gave him a ten-day detention. He is being held in the Shisu Detention Center.
3. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Hongmei and Another Practitioner Detained
Ms. Zhao Hongmei and another practitioner who lives in the Haigang District were distributing Falun Gong flyers on March 8, 2023. Police tracked them via surveillance cameras and arrested them. They are being held at a police station.
4. [Suizhou City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhou Hongliang Arrested
Mr. Zhou Hongliang was arrested by plainclothes officers on the afternoon of March 10, 2023. His home was ransacked. His whereabouts are unknown.
5. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Yupei Arrested
Ms. Zhang Yupei of the Songwangzhuang Community, Lanshan District talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in the Luwangzhuang Community on March 10, 2023. Someone reported her to the police. She was arrested and taken to the Xijiao Police Station.
6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Min and Ms. Yang Zi Transferred to Weizigou Detention Center
Ms. Wang Min of Nongan County was transferred from the Weizigou Detention House to the Weizigou Detention Center.
Ms. Yang Zi of Caijia Village was transferred from the Weizigou Detention House to the Weizigou Detention Center on March 7, 2023.
7. [Beijing] Ms. Xia Chunfeng Under Around the Clock Surveillance
The Changying Office, the Changying Police Station, and the Lijingyuan Community had people stationed in front of Ms. Xia Chunfeng’s home on the evening of February 25, 2023. They watched her 24 hours a day. Several people followed her whenever she left home.
8. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zheng Liyan Arrested, Ms. Zheng Lizhu Detained
Ms. Zheng Lizhu was arrested and is being held in the Yushu Detention Center. Her younger sister, Ms. Zheng Liyan, was harassed, then arrested. Police intended to give her detention, but had to release her due to her medical condition.
9. [Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Qing Hua’s Whereabouts Unknown
Ms. Qing Hua agreed to meet officers from the Dingmao Police Station on the afternoon of March 3, 2023. Her family and friends subsequently lost contact with her. Her whereabouts are unknown.
10. [Hongjiang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Yi Xianmei and Her Family Harassed
The secretary of the Hongjiang City Political and Legal Affairs Committee, officers from the Hongjiang City Police Department, secretary of the Tangwan Town Political and Legal Affairs, and officers from the Tangwan Town Police Station went to the Wenfeng Village office on March 9, 2023. They called Ms. Yi Xianmei’s family to the office, and pressured them to force her to renounce Falun Gong. They said they would take her to the Huaihua City Mental Hospital and treat her as a mental patient.
11. [Yulin City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Cuifang’s Trial Canceled
Ms. Zhang Cuifang was arrested by officers from the Yulin City Domestic Security Division on August 1, 2022 after someone reported her when she was talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The Yuyang District Court scheduled her trial for the afternoon of March 9, 2023, but the trial was canceled that morning. No reason was given.
12. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Practitioners Harassed
Ms. Liu Shuzhen was harassed at home on March 8, 2023. Officers from the Huachang Police Station went to her home after 3:00 p.m. She did not open the door. They left but came back again after 10:00 p.m. Her husband opened the door. Two officers came in, photographed her, and collected samples of her saliva.
Mr. Sun Qinghong and her husband received harassing calls several times from the Zhengyang Police Station. The officer demanded to photograph her. The couple refused, but the officer came to their home and photographed her.
Ms. Sun Qingmin received harassing calls from the Chengjiao Police Station. The officer demanded to photograph her.
Ms. Jiang Yuzhi was harassed by the Dongshijiazi Village security director. The director insisted on photographing her and collecting a saliva sample.
Mr. Jiang Guochang received harassing calls from the Dongshijiazi Village security director. He had a home in the city. The harassers went there and knocked on his door several times.
13. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Yinghua Harassed
Ms. Zhang Yinghua was in her daughter’s home on the afternoon of March 6, 2023, when she received a call from the local police station. Officers went to her place, photographed her, and collected her saliva sample.
14. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Xiaofen Harassed
Ms. Chen Xiaofen, in her 70s, was harassed at home in late February 2023. Her place was ransacked. Her Falun Gong books and other belongings were seized. She was ordered to stay home during the annual meetings of the CCP’s Parliament and Political Advisory Body.
15. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Xiuzhen and Ms. Qin Shaoying Harassed
Ms. Xu Xiuzhen and her daughter, Ms. Qin Shaoying, were called to the Xiazhuangzhen Police Station on March 10, 2023. Two officers took their signatures and fingerprints, photographed them from different angles in the street, and finally walked them home.
16. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Ying Arrested and Injured
Ms. Liu Ying, who works for the Changchun Automobile Company, was arrested on March 4, 2023. Police officers turned off the power to her home and waited outside. When she went outside to check, they rushed in and ransacked the place. She was taken to a detention center. The guards did not take her in because she was injured during the arrest. She was admitted to the company hospital for medical treatment the next afternoon.
17. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Hongfeng Arrested
Ms. Liu Hongfeng of Weijiagou, Chanzhuangzhen, Zhaoyuan City was arrested by plainclothes officers on February 8, 2023 for distributing Falun Gong flyers in the Zhongcun Open Market. She was taken to the Zhongcun Police Station. Officers ordered her to sign papers, but she did not cooperate. The officers took her home and ransacked the place. They seized her Falun Gong books and a picture of Falun Gong’s founder.
18. [Nongan County, Jilin Province] Ms. Yu Yongqin Arrested
Ms. Yu Yongqin was arrested by officers from the Binhe Police Station and her village brigade security director on March 3, 2023. She was released that day.
19. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Detention Center Refuses to Admit Ms. Han Lihua Because of Her Health
Ms. Han Lihua, 71, of the Ranghulu District, was given detention but was released. The detention center did not take her in because of her poor health. She was later sentenced to eight years in prison.
She was again taken to the Daqing Detention Center on the afternoon of March 10, 2023, but the detention center refused to admit her. She was released. The detention center leader suggested that the case officer ask the court to have her sentence executed outside of prison.
20. [Shanghai] Ms. Wang Renxiang Under Surveillance
Ms. Wang Renxiang was harassed by two community clerks in front of her home on March 4, 2023. They said they came because it was almost time for the annual meetings of the CCP’s Parliament and Political Advisory Body. One of them used his cell phone and tried to photograph her, but she did not cooperate. Her husband was followed by someone when he left home the next day. People were stationed at her door.
21. [Maoming City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Li Shunhua Appeals
Ms. Li Shunhua, 83, has been held in the Maoming City No. 1 Detention Center. She asked her lawyer to appeal for her on the afternoon of March 6, 2023, when her lawyer visited her.
She was sentenced to a year in prison and fined 3,000 yuan by the Maonan District Court on the morning of February 28, 2023.
22. [Helan County, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Ms. Zhang Jiuxiang Harassed
Ms. Zhang Jiuxiang was harassed at home by three male officers from the Yingulu Police Station on the morning of January 18, 2023. They photographed her and checked her lease contract.
