(Minghui.org) Looking back at my nearly 20 years of cultivation, my heart is full of gratitude to Master Li (Falun Dafa’s founder). It is Master’s Falun Dafa that transformed me from a person who was depressed and didn’t know the meaning of life to a practitioner who firmly walks on the path of returning to my true self.
I would like to share some of my cultivation experiences.
The German-Made Fountain Pen Broke Into Two
In 1998, an old college friend of mine sent me a copy of the book Zhuan Falun. At that time, I had a long commute to work and my daughter was very young. I was very busy and tired. I read the book once and put it down. Having grown up in a society of Party culture, I had some doubts about some of the contents of the book, thinking it was superstition.
After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched its persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in July 1999, my friend went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa. She was arrested and sentenced to jail. She was my best friend during college. I did not believe she was a bad person, as was said on TV. But I didn’t know the truth. This left me feeling lost and helpless.
Then the birth of our daughter brought a lot of happiness to my husband and me. But I often complained that my husband was not considerate, didn’t know how to take care of children, and besides work, all he cared about was eating, drinking, and having fun. My husband could no longer take my constant complaints. We often quarreled. After a quarrel, we usually entered into a “cold war.” I became very disappointed in my marriage.
At the beginning of 2002, I started to have an affair with a colleague at my school. He was knowledgeable and talented, and I admired him. He gave me a fountain pen that was brought to him from Germany, and I kept it in my bag.
In October 2002, my old college friend visited me after she was released. She talked about Falun Dafa and her personal experiences. Her husband divorced her due to pressure from the persecution. She lost her job, so I invited her to temporarily stay with me. She brought me some books of Master’s lectures. Out of curiosity, I read through all of them.
In doing so, I was awakened. Although I didn’t fully understand the meaning of the Fa-rectification, I knew that Master was here to save people and that Master was doing a very grand thing. I knew I couldn’t miss this opportunity. So I learned the five sets of exercises from my friend, and I started practicing Falun Dafa.
When my friend left, she gave me all the Dafa books she brought. I eagerly read the books over and over again, and all the questions and confusion in my life were answered by Dafa! I found that my life had a new meaning: I came to this world to find Dafa!
Not long after I started practicing, I opened my bag one day and found that the pen the work colleague gave me was broken in two. There was no trace of ink in the bag, while there was obviously ink in the pen. This was a high-quality fountain pen made in Germany, and the pen barrel was thicker than ordinary pens. How did it break in two? My bag was made of thick cowhide. I used it every day and never dropped it, and it had never been pressed on by heavy objects. I took the broken pen in my hand and stared at the two pieces blankly for a long time. I understood that Master was enlightening me and wanted me to end this affair.
The next day, I asked this colleague to have a meal together. I told him that I was now practicing Falun Dafa. And Dafa’s Master asks us to be a good person, to not hurt others, and to not be immoral. The affair between us is inappropriate. It’s not good for anyone. We should not go on like this. He was deeply moved and expressed his understanding. I haven’t had any contact with him since then.
Master Guided Me to Make Truth-Clarification Video CDs
In the early days after I first obtained the Fa, computers were not popular. In order to keep up with Master’s progress in Fa-rectification, I knew I must learn how to surf the Internet. I bought my first computer in 2003. After reading articles on the Minghui website, I learned about the persecution of Dafa disciples and that Dafa disciples should clarify the truth. So I sent out a thought: I want to tell the world about the persecution of Dafa disciples, and I don’t want to be arrested and persecuted. Perhaps because of this thought, I have been walking on the path of assisting Master in Fa-rectification relatively steadily.
I wanted to print truth-clarification journals from the Minghui website and distribute them to people, but I didn’t have the technical skills to do so. And I had no one to ask for advice. So I bought a computer and a printer, and little by little I tried to follow the techniques provided on Minghui. In order to produce truth-clarification videos on CDs, I got a CD-ROM and downloaded the CD-burning software. But the recording software was in English, and I couldn’t figure out how to use it.
One day, I opened the recording software and randomly clicked something. Next, I felt someone was telling me what to do step by step, and I succeeded in burning a video CD!
I then made a lot of truth-clarification video CDs and distributed them. Every time I went out to distribute truth-clarification materials, Master protected me and helped me. For example, I went to distribute truth-clarification materials one day during my lunch break at work. I went to an apartment building but saw a security door at the entrance. I waited there for a while, but no one came out or went in as most people take a rest at that time of day. I thought: I have to get in so I can finish distributing the truth-clarification materials. Then I heard a “pop;” the security door was unlocked! I quickly opened the door and walked in, finished distributing the materials smoothly, and went back to work.
Minghui Accompanied Me and Helped Me to Cultivate
When I learned about Falun Dafa, the CCP’s persecution had already begun. So I never had a group cultivation environment. For nearly 20 years, I have been in a state of “solitary cultivation” most of the time. Thus, without the Minghui website, it would have been impossible for me to persist in practicing up to today.
In my heart, the Minghui website is a spiritual home for Dafa disciples and a pure land in this troubled world. Whenever I was depressed and unable to move forward, I read experience-sharing articles on Minghui or listened to Minghui broadcasting. Whenever I felt confused and couldn’t find a solution to my problem, I went to the Minghui website. Minghui helped me endlessly. It made me feel that Master is always by my side.
I am so grateful to Master for giving us the Minghui website, a platform for Dafa disciples to learn from each other, encourage each other, and improve together. I am so grateful to fellow practitioners who work for Minghui and all fellow practitioners who contributed articles to Minghui. Thank you, for your hard work. Thank you, for running Minghui so well and with such rich content. In Minghui articles, I saw Dafa disciples’ great kindness and tolerance when they were persecuted, their perseverance when they encountered difficulties, and their righteous thoughts and righteous actions when they faced tribulations. From Minghui, I saw the gaps between myself and fellow practitioners and then strove to catch up.
During the more than 20 years of persecution, the CCP has tried all it can to block the truth and poison sentient beings. Yet they have failed to block the Minghui website, even for a single day. This is a miracle! The Minghui website is like a sword that pierces the darkness, brightens the night sky, suppresses evil and chaos points in the direction of Dafa disciples, and brings hope to mankind.
I am so fortunate to have become a Falun Dafa disciple! I know there is still a big gap between myself and diligent fellow practitioners, and I am still far from Master’s requirements. I will try my best to cultivate well and complete the mission of assisting Master in Fa-rectification.
