(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 45 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhao Mingying Sentenced to Two Years in Prison
Ms. Zhao Mingying, 55, was arrested at home by officers from the Yongxing Police Station in Chuanshan District and the Heye Police Station in Pengxi County on June 19, 2021. She was held in the Yongxing Detention Center for one month before she was released on bail pending trial.
Ms. Zhao has been constantly harassed after her release. She was sentenced to two years in prison by the Suining City Court on January 19, 2023.
2. [Laishui County, Hebei Province] Ms. Yu Xiuhong and Ms. Han Jianxia Arrested
Ms. Yu Xiuhong and Ms. Han Jianxia live in Beiwazhai Village, Laishui Town, Laishui County. They were reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong in Changti Village, Dongwenshan Township, and were arrested on February 27, 2023. They are being held in the Laishui County Detention House.
3. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Jinqing Arrested
Ms. Chen Jinqing from the Yantang Community in the Tianhe District was arrested at home on the morning of February 24, 2023. Her home was ransacked.
4. [Shenmu City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Gao Xiaoke Arrested
Mr. Gao Xiaoke was arrested at the Shenmu Railway Station when he was accompanying his wife to Beijing for medical treatment on February 27, 2023. It is said that the couple was not allowed to go to Beijing because the National People’s Congress & Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference annual sessions will be held there. Mr. Gao is still detained at the Railway Police Station.
5. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Wang Yajun Arrested
Wang Yajun was arrested on February 23, 2023. Wang’s home was ransacked. Wang was released after failing the physical exam.
6. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Two Practitioners Arrested
Two practitioners from Suning County were reported to police for distributing information about Falun Gong in Wangjiazuo Village, Shaozhuang Township, Suning County, and were arrested by officers from the Shaozhuang Township Police Station on the evening of February 21, 2023. The two practitioners managed to escape when they were taken to the Suning County Hospital for physical exams.
The police went to their homes and arrested them on February 26, 2022. The detention center refused to admit them due to their high blood pressure and they were released. They were summoned to the Shaozhuang Township Police Station the next day. The police plan to place them under 10-day detention.
7. [Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Zhang Fengqin Arrested and Detained
More than 20 officers including Sun Gang, head of the Domestic Security Division of the Kerqin District Police Department, went to the home of Ms. Zhang Fengqin’s daughter around 7 a.m. on February 23, 2023. They ransacked it and confiscated three printers, a laptop, Falun Gong books, the photo of Falun Gong’s founder, and other personal belongings. Ms. Zhang, over 70, and her daughter were taken away. Her daughter was released later but Ms. Zhang was sent to a detention center.
8. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wei Shouzhe Sentenced to Seven Months in Prison
Ms. Wei Shouzhe was arrested in the Niangnianggong Market in the Development Zone, Jinzhou City on the morning of August 21, 2022, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was taken to the Jinzhou City Women’s Detention Center. She was later sentenced to seven months in prison by the Linghai Court and will be released on March 21, 2023.
9. [Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Fan Xiaoli Arrested
Ms. Fan Xiaoli from the Kerqin District was arrested on February 16, 2023. She is currently held in the Kerqin District Detention Center.
10. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Lei Xinghua, 76, Ms. Yang Guishu, 75, and Ms. Xiang Guangqiong, 83, were reported to police for distributing truth clarifying materials and were arrested around 9 a.m. on February 24, 2023. They were taken to the Mengzhuiwan Police Station for interrogation. Officer Zhang Haijun went to ransack the homes of Ms. Lei and Ms. Yang but did not find anything. The practitioners were released that evening.
11. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Cong Xiuxia and Ms. Cong Xiuqiu Arrested
Ms. Cong Xiuxia and Ms. Cong Xiuqiu were arrested at 9 a.m. on February 21, 2023, for distributing truth-clarifying materials in a market. They were taken to the Wangtuan Police Station and body searched. The police confiscated numerous truth-clarifying materials. The two practitioners were released that evening.
12. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Hou Meixian Arrested
Ms. Hou Meixian, over 70, was arrested by plainclothes officers when she distributed information about Falun Gong in the Gezhuang Market on the morning of February 23, 2023. She was taken to the Liyuan Police Station. Her home was ransacked and multiple Falun Gong books were confiscated. She was released in the late afternoon.
13. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
Mr. Wang Qijun, 70, his wife Ms. Hou Suhua, 70, Ms. Zhang, and Ms. Jiang, were arrested in late February 2023. They were released later after being taken to the police station for interrogation.
14. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yu Xuezhen and Ms. Han Shuang Arrested and Detained
Ms. Yu Xuezhen and Ms. Han Shuang were arrested by officers from the Tongjiang Police Station when they distributed information about Falun Gong on February 14, 2022. Their homes were ransacked. The police confiscated their Falun Gong books, photos of Falun Gong’s founder, and their truth-clarifying materials. The two practitioners were detained for 10 days in the Leshan Detention Center and were released on February 25, 2023.
15. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xue Yacui and Ms. Qi Enxiang Persecuted
Ms. Xue Yacui, about 55, lives alone in the Gaoxin District. She has not been heard from since February 19, 2023.
Ms. Qi Enxiang was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong. She is summoned to the police station every day and is threatened to be arrested if she fails to comply.
16. [Yanbian City, Jilin Province] Ms. An Mingyu Persecuted
Ms. An Mingyu was arrested at home by officers from the Chaoyangchuan Police Station for distributing truth-clarifying materials during the 2022 Chinese New Year. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated her Falun Gong books, truth-clarifying materials, cell phone, etc. She was released later that day.
Now one year later, her case was brought up again by the police department and the procuratorate.
17. [Macheng City, Hubei Province] Seven Practitioners Persecuted
Ms. Liu Nianhua and Ms. Bao Zhiying were arrested by officers from the Gulou Police Station on February 7, 2023, for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were taken to the Macheng Detention House. Ms. Liu Nianhua was transferred to the Huanggang City Detention Center on February 20, 2023. Ms. Bao Zhiying was released on February 23, 2023, after being held for 15 days in the Macheng Detention House.
Four elderly practitioners from Songbu Town were arrested on January 30, 2023. Ms. Yan Qing’e was released. Ms. Tao Xi’ai, 59, was beaten in the police station and was held for 15 days in the Macheng Detention House. Mr. Hao is still incarcerated in the No.1 Detention Center. Ms. Cao Guirong, over 60, was transferred to the Huanggang City Detention Center.
Ms. Zheng Cuiyu who was arrested in 2021 and Ms. Dai Xinhua have been detained in the Huanggang City Detention Center. Ms. Dai Xinhua has been detained for four years. Mr. Yi Jiahai and Mr. Yan Yingzhong are detained in the No.1 Detention Center.
Four female practitioners are currently held in the Huanggang City Detention Center and three male practitioners are held in the No.1 Detention Center of Macheng City.
18. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Yaofeng Arrested
Ms. Liu Yaofeng and her husband were arrested by officers from the Laiyang Railway Police Station when they were about to board a train on the morning of February 26, 2023. Their home was ransacked.
19. [Qing’an County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Chen Shiqin Arrested
Ms. Chen Shiqin was arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of February 24, 2023. She was released that evening.
20. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Zhang Chuanfang Arrested
Zhang Chuanfang was arrested.
21. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Bai Yanbin Arrested
Mr. Bai Yanbin from Harqin Banner was arrested on the afternoon of February 10, 2023. The police ransacked his home and confiscated a computer, a motorcycle, over 10,000 yuan in cash, and other personal belongings. Mr. Bai was released on bail pending trial on February 23, 2023.
