(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 17 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Gu Zhengfen Sentenced to Three Years in Prison
Ms. Gu Zhengfen was tried by Chenghua District Court on the afternoon of March 6, 2023. She was sentenced to three years in prison and is being held in a detention center.
2. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Mr. Sun Yushan Sentenced to Prison
Mr. Sun Yushan, 25, was arrested and his home was ransacked by officers from the Qingshuitang Police Station on January 20, 2022. His case was brought to the Liuyang City Court on June 7, 2022. He was sentenced to three years and three months in prison and fined over 10,000 yuan on February 15, 2023.
Mr. Sun refused to accept the judgment of the first instance and appealed. He is still being held in Changsha City No. 2 Detention Center.
3. [Shanghai] Ms. Wu Ping Officially Arrested
Ms. Wu Ping, in her 50s, from Fengcheng Town, Fengxian District, was arrested at home by people from the Fengcheng Town Police Station and the 610 Office on February 13, 2023. She was held in the Fengxian District Detention Center. The officers confiscated a computer, a printer, and Falun Gong books. Ms. Wu has been officially placed under arrest.
4. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Jinzhong Arrested
Ms. Li Jinzhong from Shouguang City was reported to the police while telling people about Falun Gong on March 9, 2023. She was subsequently arrested and her home was ransacked. Ms. Li is being held in Shouguang City Detention Center.
5. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Ms. Lu Shuxia Arrested
Ms. Lu Shuxia from Guangzong County was arrested and her home was ransacked by officers from Guangzong County Domestic Security Division at noon on March 28, 2023. She was released that afternoon.
6. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhang Muqing Arrested
Mr. Zhang Muqing, 42, was arrested in February 2023. He is being held in the Yongxing Detention Center.
7. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. He Ziguang Held in Detention Center
Mr. He Ziguang from Zhucheng City was arrested and taken to the Huanghua Police Station by plainclothes officers on March 13, 2023, for telling people about Falun Gong. The officers confiscated about 2,000 yuan in paper bills with Falun Gong facts printed on them.
When Mr. He’s daughter-in-law, practitioner Ms. Liu Peizhi, was not at home. The officers ransacked her room and confiscated several Falun Gong books. Mr. He was placed under criminal detention the day he was arrested. He is still being held in the Zhucheng City Detention Center.
8. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Ms. Ma Shulian and Pi Xiurong Arrested
Director Shang of the Jiuzhai Township Police Station and three other people, led by the village secretary, broke into Ms. Ma Shulian’s home and ransacked the place on March 15, 2023. They confiscated twelve Falun Gong books, three audio players, and one photo of Falun Gong’s founder. Ms. Ma was taken to the police station for interrogation.
The officers then extorted 1,000 yuan from Ms. Ma’s family, in addition to 600 yuan for the medical examination. Afterward, they took Ms. Ma and Pi Xiurong to Lanshan District, Linyi City, where both practitioners were detained for more than 10 days. Pi is still being held in the detention center.
9. [Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Liu Guiying and Mr. Zhang Fengming from the Beilin District were each sentenced to 18 months by the Hailun City Court. Mr. Zhang Lianqing was also sentenced, but his term is unknown.
10. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Hong Arrested
Mr. Zhang Hong was arrested at home by four officers from the Rongguang Police Station in Erdao District on February 19, 2023. His home was ransacked.
11. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wu Xiuying Arrested
Ms. Wu Xiuying from Fumeng County was reported to the police while telling people about Falun Gong in Naiman Banner in February 2023. She was arrested by officers from the Naiman Banner Police Station. Ms. Wu was tried by the Naiman Banner Court on March 15. The decision has not yet been announced.
12. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Case Against Mr. Su Lixin to Be Turned Over to the Procuratorate
Officer Wang from Fumeng County Domestic Security Division called Mr. Su Lixin around February 20, 2023, and told him to go to the Domestic Security Division because he'd mailed Falun Gong materials. The Domestic Security Division plans to turn his case over to the Fumeng County Procuratorate.
13. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Li Mianzhen Arrested
Ms. Li Mianzhen from Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, was arrested on the morning of March 27, 2023, by officers from the Gasa Town Police Station in Jinghong City, Yunnan Province.
