(Minghui.org) I am a new practitioner who didn’t have a chance to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa and didn’t sue Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese president who initiated the persecution of Falun Dafa. I saw that other practitioners have done well in validating the Fa and nothing could move them. I admired them and decided to clarify the truth to police officers and do the three things well.
I was encouraging two people to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations on the morning of June 16, 2021. The man was a CCP member and was quitting the CCP, but his wife reported me to the police. I was arrested and taken to a police station. An officer ordered me not to try to escape.
I said, “I am not here to let you arrest Falun Dafa practitioners. I am here to clarify the truth to you. Falun Dafa is the Buddha’s Fa. We are not bad people, nor are we counterrevolutionary. You have seen that many people who persecuted Falun Dafa have received retribution. I don’t want to see you suffer the consequences; instead, I only wish you good luck. You see that the pandemic is so severe. I hope you treasure yourself.”
They filed a police report and asked me to sign it, but I refused. Whenever a police officer came, I said to him, “Remember that ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,’ so you will remain safe during the pandemic. The pandemic is here to eliminate bad people.”
They later called an officer named Tang to check my bag and said they would go to my home to investigate. I thought, Master will protect me, and I won’t be afraid. However, in order to save them, I knew I should have compassion for them. On the road, I asked Master to strengthen me. I sent forth righteous thoughts, clarified the truth, and eliminated the evil factors that were trying to persecute me. When I arrived home, Tang left me Master’s photo, saying, “I’ll leave this photo for you. I will bring these books. Then I will return them. I haven’t touched any other materials.” I knew Master was protecting me.
When I returned to the police station, they arranged for me to have a medical check-up, then took me to a detention center. A young officer, the driver, said to me, smiling, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” I said, “Young officer, that’s good, recite it every day.” He said OK.
It was 11 p.m. when I got to the detention center. Over 50 police officers came, all in protective clothes with masks. I heard that they had just returned from court. The young officer said to me, “Clarify the truth to them.” I thought, isn’t Master arranging this for me? I was very happy as I wanted to clarify the truth to the police officers, so I spoke aloud, “There is no use in wearing protective clothing and masks. It won’t work. Instead, please remember, ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,’ and you will be safe. Falun Dafa is the Buddha’s Fa. People who cultivate Buddha’s Fa are good people.”
They issued an arrest warrant about ten days later, but I refused to sign under any circumstances. Instead, I memorized the Fa, sent forth righteous thoughts, and persuaded people to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
About two months later, a prosecutor came and asked me what religion I practiced. I said, “I cultivate myself to be a good person based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I do not belong to any religion. There are 14 evil cults listed, and Falun Dafa is not one of them. You can check it. All laws should be in writing. Anything verbal doesn’t count. If there is a wrongful conviction, someone should be held accountable. Are you clear about that?”
She said she did and asked, “You believe in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, so you will tell me the truth. Can you tell me where you got these materials?” I said, “Are you asking me to betray my fellow practitioners? If I betray fellow practitioners, how can I be following Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance?” She was speechless.
I said, “Falun Dafa practitioners don’t do anything to hurt the country or the people. We only do good things based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Please use the law to protect good people. What a pity it is that people can’t afford to be sick, to see doctors. They do exercises and want to have healthy bodies and be good people. It doesn’t cause any economic loss, yet we are banned. In all other countries around the world, people are allowed to practice Falun Dafa. So why is it that in China, we are not? Cultivating is not a crime. I see that you are very kind, so I am letting you know the truth. Please tell your parents and your relatives, ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,’ so you can all survive the disaster.” She asked me to sign the document, but I refused. Every day, I sent forth righteous thoughts towards the prosecutor to dissolve the evil factors and lives that controlled her.
The court was convening, and the prosecutor came again. She said there wasn’t a big problem and hoped I could return home early. She asked me to sign a document to admit my crime and agree to pay the penalty. In this way, I could get a suspended sentence. I rejected her suggestion. She asked, “Don’t you want to be free? That is what is most important.”
I said, “No matter how important freedom is, it is more important to validate the Fa. I came here to tell you that it is legal to practice Falun Dafa, but you still ask me to sign a document saying I have committed a crime? If I did that, I would truly be committing a crime. I will leave with dignity. I won’t ruin Dafa’s reputation just for my own freedom.”
I added, “Please release me immediately. Now, what you are doing is committing a crime towards divine beings.”
She couldn’t find any reason why I should be imprisoned, so she said it was because I had too many copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, and each copy said it’s heaven’s will that the CCP will perish. She said I attacked the CCP, so she didn’t dare to release me. I said, “They are truth-clarification materials to save sentient beings. How long do you plan to hold me?” She said I hadn’t signed any of their documents from the beginning, and the case will be decided by the judge.
When I returned to the ward, I talked to Master, “Master, I only want to clarify the truth. I don’t want to be in a prison. I want to return home to save sentient beings. I can’t stay here.”
I wondered how long they would hold me. It was not because I had too many truth-clarification materials, it was because my attachments were too strong—attachments to doing things, making money, lust, not focusing when I study the Fa, not respecting Dafa, and so on. That is why the old forces took advantage of it. Truth-clarification materials are very precious, and they can save sentient beings. They are not evidence of a crime. A fellow practitioner was sentenced to four years in prison because they ransacked her home and got 400 copies of truth-clarification materials. So a fellow practitioner asked me to be prepared, as I had over 500 copies. I said, “I don’t believe in the judge, I believe in Master. When Master wants me to return, I will return home. Master is with me, taking care of me.”
Some fellow practitioners tore up their indictments right away, without even knowing who the accusers and judges were. When I received the indictment, I saw who the accuser was and who the judge was. I sent forth righteous thoughts towards them every day, as I wanted to save them. I corrected all their uses of the word “cult” to read “righteous Fa,” as we Dafa disciples should correct everything that isn’t right, and then ask relevant personnel to remember, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”
One day before the court was to assemble, a legal assistant came to meet with me and said that she would help me to get a lighter verdict for free. She asked me to sign a document admitting that I committed the crimes I was accused of, and then I would be freed the next day. I said, “I won’t sign the document even if I am released today. I didn’t commit any crime, so why should I admit that I did something wrong?” I know that at every step there is a trap. She said it was fine not to sign. As long as I considered her as my lawyer, I would get a suspended sentence. I rejected her offer, “Thanks for your kindness. Please remember, ‘Falun Dafa is good’ and ‘Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good’ to avoid any pandemic diseases.”
There was no court assembly the next day. However, there was a trial one month later. On my way to the court, I asked Master to strengthen me, and I sent forth righteous thoughts for the judge. I hoped the judge could be saved. When I was in court, the judge asked me why I never signed any of the documents. I said, “I do everything based on Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I never did anything wrong. If I signed them, it would be you who was committing a crime by saying heaven is evil.” She said, “Oh, I didn’t know that.”
I said, “Because Dafa is great, many people believe in Dafa. Jiang didn’t allow us to practice Falun Dafa and said we were committing a crime if we did. We are good people.”
The judge said, “The prosecutor said you are a good person and your case belongs to the category of attempted crime, so you should be sentenced lightly.” The judge then asked me if I knew that it was because I clarified the truth at a police station, and they recorded it and said I committed a crime. I said I didn’t know this. The judge said they don’t agree with the opinions of the police officers.
I left the detention center with dignity on April 5, 2022. The guard said, “Please return home quickly. Your family has been waiting for you for a very long time.”
I am grateful to Master for his merciful protection. Master has been with me at each step and helped me not to deviate from my cultivation path. Thank you, Master. I will cultivate well, listen to Master, closely follow Master, and cultivate Dafa steadfastly.
