(Minghui.org) I am 63 and a retired blue-collar worker. At work, I followed my supervisor’s instructions, and at home, I did what my wife told me to. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched the persecution of Falun Gong, I did not believe the CCP’s propaganda against the practitioners. Some of my friends who could get past the Great Firewall and read articles from uncensored websites told me what really happened in the persecution. I felt sorry for the practitioners.
My wife would not let me take Falun Gong’s fliers that appeared at our doorstep, fearing that I would be targeted by the authorities. New fliers stopped coming as the old ones just sat there. I once thought to myself, “Why don’t they just listen to the CCP and stop practicing? The CCP would arrest and torture them because they walk around and tell people about the brutal persecution. What do they want in return?” Though I had doubts, I knew that practitioners are good people. Before the persecution, I saw many of them exercising on my way to work.
Five years ago I met a practitioner who told me what happened in the persecution. I knew that the practitioners wanted people to wake up to the truth and not side with the evil CCP. This way people would have a good future as heaven would eventually eliminate the CCP. What I did not understand was why they also wanted to save the evil police and officials who persecuted them.
“Don’t Gods offer salvation to good men? Why are you saving the bad guys?” I asked. The practitioner told me, “If the bad guys, after knowing the truth, could repent and follow the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, they would become good guys, and thus be saved.”
So many Falun Gong practitioners got arrested and died after being tortured because they tried to explain to the bad guys why they had committed wrongdoings by being involved in the persecution. I did not think the bad guys were worth the practitioners’ lives.
I recently read Mr. Li Hongzhi’s article “How Humankind Came To Be” from a pamphlet a practitioner gave me. It was so well written, and I finally knew why mankind exists. I showed my older brother the article, and my wife could not stop me this time. A few days ago Mr. Li published another article “Why Save Sentient Beings.” A practitioner copied it down and brought it over for me to read. After reading it, I finally understood why practitioners are risking their lives to tell people the truth about the persecution in the midst of it, because we are the Creator’s people after all, and the Creator loves every one of us.
To save us, the Creator gave all He has, and the practitioners are giving their all to help the Creator save people. They are truly magnificent!
