(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in the San Francisco area held a candlelight vigil outside the Chinese Consulate on April 23, 2023. They were commemorating the April 25 Appeal from 24 years ago and mourned their fellow practitioners who had died from the persecution by the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) regime. Their activity received great support from the public.

Drivers passing the vigil honked to show their support for Falun Gong. Some rolled down their windows to accept informational materials about Falun Gong. Some joined practitioners to express their support.
The Destructive Force of the CCP
A man named Laine said, “I’m not surprised [about the persecution of Falun Gong] because I know how the CCP has destroyed the Uyghur culture. It views all traditional culture as a threat.” Laine believes in the preciousness of the Falun Gong principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. “I meditate every morning, reflecting upon myself, and try to become a better person.”
Laine was saddened to hear about the CCP’s atrocity of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. “The dictatorship has brainwashed the people and destroyed the culture. I hope to see a new China. Those who practice Falun Gong are kind people. I thank you for your peaceful call to stop the persecution!”
Democracy Advocate Mr. Chen Yongming
Mr. Chen Yongming, an advocate for democracy, joins Falun Gong practitioners at the vigil.
Mr. Chen Yongming had been imprisoned by the Chinese regime for 12 years because of calling for democracy. He told the reporter, “Falun Gong is such a great practice. Those who practice Falun Gong are such nice people. The CCP brutally persecutes over one hundred million practitioners. All people with righteous hearts know that the CCP has committed crimes against the people. I’m here to expose the CCP and support Falun Gong.”
Chen pointed out that the Stop Forced Organ Harvesting Act of 2023, passed by the House of Representatives in March this year, has shocked the CCP. Chen said he had been repeating “Falun Dafa is great, and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is great” a hundred times a day, which had helped him restore his health.
Photographer Eberman Supports Falun Gong
Eric Eberman, a photographer, supports Falun Gong’s work to end the persecution.
Mr. Eric Eberman happened to pass the Chinese Consulate. He stopped to find out what was going on. “Falun Gong exercises are beautiful. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is beautiful,” Eric said. He said that the persecution shouldn’t have happened and that he admired practitioners’ strong will. “The whole world should know about the persecution and stop it.”
People from all walks of life stopped to express their support for Falun Gong. “All people worldwide should know what the Chinese government has done. If everyone could follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, the world would be a better place. Everyone should enjoy the freedom of belief," he strongly suggested. “This is what I have been looking for!”
