(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners held an event in Auckland, the largest city in New Zealand on April 25, 2023, in front of the Chinese Embassy. They commemorated the April 25 Peaceful Appeal that took place in Beijing 24 years ago.
Practitioners hope that more people in New Zealand can learn about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) brutal persecution of Falun Gong, which continues to this day.

Editor-in-Chief of “Beijing Spring”: Falun Dafa Practitioners Maintain Morality
Chen Weijian, the editor-in-chief of “Beijing Spring” magazine
Chen Weijian is the editor-in-chief of “Beijing Spring” magazine and a well known political commentator. He thinks that if the people do not even have the right and freedom to express their opinions, there is no point in talking about the CCP’s claims of “rule of law and democracy.” He said that Falun Dafa practitioners are really great despite going through 24 years of brutal persecution. They are still able to uphold Falun Dafa’s reputation and tell the world’s people the goodness of Falun Dafa in such a gentle way!
Mr. Chen said, “The CCP was not shocked by the April 25 Appeal. They were shocked by the peaceful manner shown by the practitioners during their appeal, displaying harmony and kindness. Falun Dafa practitioners did not scream or rage like people usually do when they protest. They just stood there peacefully, either practicing the exercises or reading their book. They maintained the cleanliness in the environment very well. Falun Dafa created a miracle where people aspire to attain Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance spiritually amid the lustful and impetuous society. This kind of positive spiritual energy is most feared by the CCP.”
He also said, “Politics refer to behaviors that govern the country such as those acts that are being carried out by the government, political parties, etc. On the contrary, Falun Dafa is protesting the suppression, which is obviously not within the scope of politics. In fact, it is not important whether the resistance is being treated as political or not, what is important is the morality. The CCP regime has no morality while the Falun Dafa group persists in maintaining morality.”
English Teacher: Falun Dafa Practitioners Are Going to Witness How the CCP Progresses to Its Downfall

Judith taught English in China. She happened to pass by the Chinese embassy and stopped to watch practitioners do the exercises. She said, “They (Falun Dafa practitioners) are protesting the CCP’s persecution. This kind of persecution is not just targeting them, it also includes the Uyghurs, Christians, etc.”
Judith explained she watched a movie about Falun Dafa being persecuted by the CCP, so she understands the truth about the persecution of Falun Dafa. She said, “This is very similar to the Tiananmen incident that happened in 1989 and the recent incident about the Hong Kong people fighting for their freedom and human rights. People hope that the government can understand the truth, but the [CCP] government chooses not to hear. I really support everything Falun Dafa practitioners have done. They are going to witness how the CCP progresses to its downfall step by step.”
Judith added, “The CCP is really corrupt, [the regime] is totally built on lies. All its doings are against its people instead of serving them. The CCP is selfish and self-glorifying. The dictators are like ‘The Emperor’s New Clothes’. Everybody is able to see that the emperor did not wear any clothes. It is just that some people are not willing to acknowledge the problem. However, today, I saw that there are people who stopped and lent their support to Falun Dafa practitioners. They have obtained support from the people in New Zealand. Even if the CCP does not want to listen [to the truth], practitioners are not wasting their time.”
Chinese: Falun Dafa Practitioners Really Stay Firm and Stable Throughout the Years
Mr. Hong, a Chinese from Singapore, happened to be at the venue where the practitioners’ event was held. He said, “We all know that Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are good and should be embraced and promoted. However, the CCP’s persecution is wrong. From the humanitarian perspective, the obstruction of personal liberty, religious beliefs, and freedom to speak, persecution [of practitioners], and harvesting [their] organs while they are still alive are wrong. However, the CCP is evil.”
With regards to the Falun Dafa practitioners’ resisting the persecution for 24 years, Mr. Hong said, “On the spiritual level, Falun Dafa practitioners really earned my respect. They have really stayed firm and stable throughout the years. I hope that they can continue their efforts in the future, too.”
Mr. Hong also said, “I believe that after the CCP collapses, the Chinese people will welcome a new world.”
