(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Gao Xiuzhi and Ms. Li Shujun Arrested
Ms. Gao Xiuzhi and Ms. Li Shujun, both from Yangzhuang Township of Yongqing County, were arrested by officers from the Beixinliu Township Police Station on the afternoon of April 27, 2023, for talking to people about Falun Gong in Beixinliu Township. The police ransacked Ms. Gao’s home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and a photo of Falun Gong’s founder. They also ransacked Ms. Li’s home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, the photo of Falun Gong’s founder, a computer, and two printers. The two practitioners are detained in the Beixinliu Township Police Station.
2. [Xichang City, Sichuan Province] The Case Against Ms. Yu Hongying Submitted to the Court
The case against Ms. Yu Hongying was submitted to the No. 2 Railway Transportation Court of Chengdu City in November 2022. The case was rejected due to insufficient evidence. The case was re-submitted to the court by the procuratorate just before May 1, 2023.
3. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lin Shuzhi Arrested and Detained
Ms. Lin Shuzhi was arrested by four officers when she talked to people about Falun Gong in the Zangjiazhuang Town Market, Fushan District, on the morning of April 20, 2023. Ms. Lin was taken to the police station for interrogation. She did not cooperate. She was taken to have a physical exam and was told her high blood pressure and heartbeat were abnormal. But she was still taken to the Laiyang City Detention House and incarcerated for seven days. She was released on April 27, 2023.
4. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Five Practitioners Persecuted
Thirteen practitioners and one family member were arrested by officers from the Taishan Police Station and the Yanjiang Police Station in the Jiangbei New District on October 14, 2022. Among them, Ms. Xie Xiuzhen, Ms. Gu Cuiying, and Ms. Fan Cuihua’s son who is not a practitioner, have been detained for more than six months. Ms. Ling Daiqin, Ms. Ye Mingyun, and Ms. Fan Cuihua were released on bail pending trial, but they were constantly harassed.
5. [Nong’an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Pan Yanjun Arrested and Detained
Ms. Pan Yanjun was arrested by Liu Xiaolin, head of the Qingshan Township Police Station. She is currently held in the Nong’an County Detention Center.
6. [Beijing] Ms. Cen Hua Arrested
Ms. Cen Hua from the Chaoyang District was arrested on April 14, 2023. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her cell phone, computer, and printer. She was sent to a detention center but recently returned home.
7. [Yunmeng County, Hubei Province] Mr. Li Guangqing Sentenced to Three Years in Prison
Mr. Li Guangqing was sentenced to three years in prison by the Anlu City Court on March 3, 2023.
8. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhu Huimin Missing
Ms. Zhu Huimin has not been heard from recently.
9. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Hou Guixiang, Ms. Liu Suran, and Ms. Ma Weifang were arrested by officers in the Qikai District around 1:30 p.m. on April 23, 2023.
Ms. Ma Weifang was detained in a metal cage for 12 hours before she was released. The police ransacked her home and confiscated three Falun Gong books, some amulets, and paper bills imprinted with Falun Gong facts.
Ms. Liu Suran was body searched and 90 yuan in paper bills imprinted with information about Falun Gong were confiscated.
Ms. Hou Guixiang was found to have 190 yuan in paper bills imprinted with information about Falun Gong and 15 copies of a recent article written by Falun Gong’s founder. She was taken to the Weizigou Detention House but was denied admission due to the results of a physical exam. She was released on April 24, 2023.
10. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Ku Jingjun Arrested and Detained
Mr. Ku Jingjun was arrested at home on the morning of April 27, 2023, for mailing letters that contained information about Falun Gong. Several officers ransacked his home that afternoon and confiscated three Falun Gong books. He was placed under 12-day detention.
11. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhao Yougong Arrested
Mr. Zhao Yougong was arrested on the way to work at noon on April 27, 2023, and was taken to the Renzhao Police Station. His home was ransacked. His Falun Gong books and truth-clarifying materials were confiscated. His wife was arrested.
12. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Suying’s Home Ransacked
The officers including Hu Tong from the Jiufeng Police Station in Shizhong District went to Ms. Chen Suying’s home on the morning of April 23, 2023. They ransacked her home and confiscated four Falun Gong books, recently published articles, and truth-clarifying materials. This is the fourth time the police ransacked her home.
13. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ma Guijie Arrested
Ms. Ma Guijie from Linghai City stayed in her son’s home in Dalian City for two years, to take care of her grandson. She was intercepted at the high-speed train station in Dalian City on the afternoon of April 25, 2023, when she was returning to Linghai City. She was arrested after she was found to have items related to Falun Gong.
