(Minghui.org) In commemoration of Falun Day, May 13, 2023, which is the 31st anniversary of Falun Dafa’s public introduction and the 24th World Falun Dafa Day, Members of Parliament (MP) from British Columbia, Canada, and the mayors of several cities issued proclamations or letters, praising the benefits that Falun Dafa has brought to people.
Letter from Elizabeth May MP
The letter from Elizabeth May MP reads, “As Leader of the Green Party of Canada and Member of Parliament for Saanich-Gulf Islands, I am pleased to extend warmest congratulations to the Falun Dafa community as you gather to celebrate the 31st anniversary of the public introduction of Falun Dafa.
“I have great respect for the principles of Truth, Benevolence and Forbearance, which guide the Falun Dafa movement.
“I stand with you not only in celebration but in solidarity as you fight to protect your right to your spiritual practice.”

Mark Dalton MP stated in his letter, “I have presented a petition in the House of Commons, standing in solidarity with you, against the many years of brutal persecution of peaceful religious practitioners. I commend you for your perseverance in standing against these ongoing atrocities. I support your efforts to secure religious freedom and toleration in China, and an end to the terrible harassment of Canadians of Chinese descent in Canada and abroad.

About Falun Dafa Day
World Falun Dafa Day was first designated on May 13, 2000, to celebrate the Falun Dafa spiritual discipline and its positive impact on the health and spirit of millions around the world. The occasion also highlights practitioners' efforts to uphold their freedom of belief in the face of brutal persecution by the Chinese communist regime. May 13 marks both the anniversary of Falun Dafa's public introduction and the birthday of its founder, Mr. Li Hongzhi.
