(Minghui.org) I was filled with a sense of urgency when I read the article, “Cherishing the Limited Opportunities Left in Our Cultivation.” I decided to write about my reflections after I read Master Li’s article, “How Humankind Came to Be.”
I began practicing Falun Dafa in 2016, but I did not begin to truly cultivate myself or understand the Fa (teachings) until I learned to examine myself. I saw my attachments and realized that most of the time they were running my life and were not my true self.
I realized that I must continue to eliminate the notions, mindsets, and attachments that I adhered to over the years as an ordinary person. Before I began practicing I did not have Master Li’s (Dafa’s founder) Fa to guide me. When I look back I now realize that he was always present and he was already protecting me. Time is very short, I have to be more demanding of myself to try to keep up with the advancement of Fa-rectification, which in my opinion is now close to the human world, and fulfill my prehistoric vows.
I would like to tell you how I overcame the notions that prevented me from telling people about Master’s latest article.
I recently heard that Master’s article had not received many “views” on the web. This made me suddenly realize that time is very short and that I should put more effort into it. I should increase the circulation of the article, do my part with more determination, and allow more people to read or listen to it. After all, Master wrote it to help us save people.
Identifying My Ego
Searching within myself I found some notions and attachments that were stopping me from telling people about the article. For example: I was afraid that others would not understand, or of losing face. I had other thoughts such as not knowing how to present it.
I am a Falun Dafa practitioner I have the Fa as my guide, and I know that when an attachment emerges I have to get rid of it. Yet even after I identified my attachments, something resisted my wish to let them go. I realized that I focused on myself, on improving in cultivation but that my wish to improve was not aimed at saving people.
Master said,
“For a Fa-rectification period Dafa disciple, personal liberation is not the goal of cultivation: when you came, saving sentient beings was your great aspiration, and that is the responsibility and mission history has bestowed upon you in Fa-rectification.” (“Let go of human attachments and save the people of the World,” The Essentials of Diligent Progress III)
After I was enlightened on that point, the egoistical part was exposed like “snow in the sun.” I saw the blocks in my heart slowly melt away. I began to demolish the ego and finally realized that my improvement is only important if I make it available to others and can bring people to be saved by Master. The space the ego occupied is really big—I now perceive it more clearly. I can see that in the past many of my actions only seemed correct on the surface. They were distorted by my attachment to my ego.
I know that I must not slack off, that I must examine every thought. That cultivation is as Master said,
“Yet whether one’s practice comes to fruition depends on how much heart is put into it; this holds true for everyone, and there is no way around it.” (The Seventh Talk, Zhuan Falun)
Master’s New Article Is Offering Salvation to the World’s People
I began to share Master’s article with my friends, and family. I am doing this with the benevolent thought that I am truly offering a gift for their salvation. I advise them to in turn offer it as a precious gift and share it with others. I am sure they will and are already doing so. Some of them have thanked me. My initial doubts were human notions. From their reactions, I felt Master was encouraging me to continue.
Falun Dafa was also initially passed on by word of mouth. After so much confusion the world’s people are waking up, understanding and seeing how low society’s morality has sunk. In my opinion, many people have a knowing side and are waiting to hear the truth.
We practitioners only need to share the article. This is a small step taken consciously and from the heart. Master only needs to see that we know what our duty is and that we believe in him and that we do the three things well.
Master addressed the message to all mankind, so we should make it known to everyone we know. But how? I started by sharing it with my friends and family, and then through truth-clarification activities and later the Chinese communities in my area.
According to my understanding how we spread it is part of our cultivation path. Using the wisdom that comes to us from Dafa, with righteous thoughts and rationality and only one thought: To do without hesitation what Master asks us to do and have faith in him.
As long as we take the first step Master will guide and protect us.
Conclusion
In his article Master addressed the whole world. Since time is limited and to help us save even more, and to allow certain disciples like me to come forward, he wrote the article, “How Humankind Came To Be.” Through Master’s immense compassion, he is offering salvation to everyone.
Master said,
“One thought made all the difference.” (The Fourth Talk, Zhuan Falun)
