(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 40 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison
Mr. Jiang Haoqi, Ms. Dong Lili and Ms. Luo Yun, all from Binhai County, were arrested in May 2021 for distributing information about Falun Gong. They were sent to the Yancheng City Detention Center. They were sentenced to prison in late 2022. Mr. Jiang Haoqi was sentenced to five years in prison; his fiancée Ms. Dong Lili, was sentenced to four years in prison; Mr. Jiang’s mother, Ms. Luo Yun, was sentenced to four and a half years in jail. They have been taken to prison.
2. [Kangping County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Bing Sentenced to Eighteen Months in Prison
Mr. Li Bing was arrested at his workplace by officers from the Zhennan Police Station around 6 p.m. on September 20, 2022. His home was ransacked around 8 p.m. He was tried on April 19, 2023 and was sentenced to eighteen months in prison and fined 10,000 yuan.
3. [Ningcheng County, Inner Mongolia] The Case Against Ms. Cong Zizhi Submitted to the Court
Ms. Cong Zizhi was arrested at home by officers including Huang Xuefeng from the Ningcheng County Police Department on April 6, 2023. Her home was ransacked. Her Falun Gong books and photo of Falun Gong’s founder were confiscated. Ms. Cong was sent to the county detention center. Her case has been submitted to the court.
4. [Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province] Five Practitioners Arrested
Five practitioners from Suiling County including Ms. Qian Zhihua, Mr. Li Kai, Zhang Mingli, Ms. Fu Guixiang, and Ms. Gu Yanwen, were arrested on April 5, 2023. Zhang Mingli was detained for 15 days and has been released. Ms. Qian Zhihua and Mr. Li Kai have been detained in the Suihua City Brainwashing Center. Ms. Gu Yanwen was detained in Suiling County.
5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Xueying Harassed
Ms. Li Xueying was harassed at home by six people at noon on April 20, 2023. These people searched her home and called a police officer. A police officer came and confiscated four Falun Gong books, two desk calendars, several magazines and informational materials about Falun Gong.
6. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yuan Mingju Arrested
Ms. Yuan Mingju from Qishan Town, around 80, was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong and was arrested by officers from the Qishan Town Police Station on the morning of May 7, 2023. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a Falun Gong book, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, twelve amulets, and twelve leaflets about Falun Gong. Ms. Yuan was released that afternoon.
7. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Shanying Arrested
Ms. Zhao Shanying, 75, was arrested by officers from the Chongqing Road Police Station when she distributed information about Falun Gong in Chongqing Road on May 11, 2023. She was taken to the police station and was released around 11 p.m.
8. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Zuojuan Faces Trial
Ms. Yang Zuojuan will be tried in the Zhaoyuan City Court on June 13, 2023.
9. [Beijing] Ms. Gao Haixiang Harassed
Ms. Gao Haixiang was harassed on April 19, 2023 by Liu Jianfeng from the Songyuan Police Station in Changping District and Mi, deputy director of the Shuiguan Community. Her family was pressured to write a guarantee statement (to stop practicing Falun Gong) on her behalf.
10. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Hou Guixiang Arrested
Ms. Hou Guixiang was arrested on the afternoon of May 10, 2023.
11. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Eight Practitioners Arrested
Eight practitioners from Pingdu City were arrested on May 9, 2023. Five of them including Mr. Zhao Minghua, Mr. Zhao’s wife, Yu Zhenxiang’s mother-in-law, Zheng Zhijun, and Yu Cuifang, have been released. Three of them, Yu Zhenxiang, Sun Kelin and Zheng Zhijun’s wife, have been detained and will be held for 10 days.
12. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Ms. Li Jingrong Arrested
Ms. Li Jingrong, in her 60s, has a shop in Jingtian Market in Shenqiu County. She was arrested at home by officers from the Beiguan Police Station on the morning of April 24, 2023. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a large amount of Falun Gong informational materials. Ms. Li was sent to the Chuanhui District Detention.
13. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Jiang Chunlin Arrested and Detained
Ms. Jiang Chunlin was arrested at home by officers from the Budong Police Station at noon on May 9, 2023. She was transferred to the Pudong Detention Center on May 10, 2023.
14. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Nine Practitioners Arrested
Four practitioners including Qin Guiying, Li Guangkun, Gao Lijun, and Feng Guoxiang, were arrested on the morning of May 8, 2023. Qin Guiying’s home was ransacked. Qin was held in the police department and is now released.
Five practitioners including Lin Hongjie, Teng Qinhua, Xie Qingcai, Fang Ruiqin, and Xiu Guozhi, were arrested in the Hongli Chemical Plant around 1 p.m. on May 8, 2023 by officers in twelve police cars. The police confiscated their computers, printers, truth clarifying materials, etc. The practitioners were taken to the police department. Teng Qinhua and Xiu Guozhi have been released. The other three are detained.
15. [Tieling City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Ying and Ms. Feng Arrested
Ms. Wang Ying and Ms. Feng from the New District were reported to police for distributing information about Falun Gong on the morning of May 10, 2023 and were arrested by officers in the New District. Their homes were ransacked. The practitioners were held in the police department for interrogation.
16. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Deng Guihua’s Home Ransacked
The police went to Deng Guihua’s home in the Jialing District on the afternoon of May 9, 2023 and ransacked Deng’s home. They confiscated nine Falun Gong books, a cell phone and paper bills with information about Falun Gong printed on them.
