(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 37 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Jiaonan City, Shandong Province] 16 Practitioners Arrested
Sixteen practitioners were arrested before World Falun Dafa Day (May 13, 2023). They are Ding Yuexin, Sun Zhuxiang, Cheng Xiuhua, Bi Jili and his wife, Xia Ling, Wang Jinxiang, Pan Yuelan, Sun, Ms. Pang, Jin Fang, Xu Shimei, Cheng Xiumei, Liu Yueqing, Ding Hongping, and Li Dianxia. Some of them have been released.
2. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhang Ping Arrested
Some people intercepted Ms. Zhang Ping when she was leaving her home at 3 p.m. on March 13, 2023. They ransacked her home and confiscated multiple Falun Gong books, amulets, some paper bills imprinted with Falun Gong facts, cell phones, etc. Ms. Zhang Ping was taken to the Xiaoyaojin Police Station for interrogation. She was threatened and told she would be taken to a detention center if she refused to write a “repentance statement.” Ms. Zhang was released the following afternoon.
3. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Meihe Arrested
Ms. Li Meihe lives in Chengnanzhuang Village, Chengnanzhuang Town, Fuping County. She was arrested in Yijiazhuang Village, Chengnanzhuang Town on April 29, 2023, because she gave a flyer to a plainclothes officer. More than 40 flyers with information about Falun Gong were found in her bag. She was taken to the police station for interrogation. The police ransacked her home but didn’t find anything. They tore off a wall poster. Ms. Li was released later that day.
4. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Ms. Huang Mingfang Arrested
Ms. Huang Mingfang, over 80, was arrested by 13 officers including Huang Yajun, deputy head of the Fucheng Police Station on December 6, 2022. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, computer, and several thousand yuan. Ms. Huang was taken to the police station in the afternoon and was released around 10 p.m.
Officers from the Fucheng Police Station went to Ms. Huang’s home at 10 a.m. on May 9, 2023. They knocked on the door but Ms. Huang did not open it. When she and her husband went out to a supermarket later, the police arrested her there. Ms. Huang was taken to the procuratorate and interrogated. She was released later that day.
5. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Yu Yingzhu Goes on a Hunger Strike
Ms. Yu Yingzhu was detained in the No.4 Detention Center. She has been on a hunger strike for over a month and was taken to the hospital.
6. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Three Practitioners Persecuted
Ms. Shi Shuru was arrested on April 11, 2023. She was placed under official arrest and sent to the Lianyungang City Detention Center.
Mr. Zhang Xueyang was arrested in March 2023. He was sent to the Ganyu District Detention Center.
Ms. Zhang Juan was arrested in April 2022. She will be tried in the Haizhou District Court on May 29, 2023.
7. [Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Dou Changying Arrested
Mr. Dou Changying was arrested on May 13, 2023. The police ransacked his home and confiscated a computer and other personal belongings.
8. [Beijing] Mr. Liu Yaping Arrested
Mr. Liu Yaping from Pinggu District was arrested at his workplace, a kindergarten, on the afternoon of May 10, 2023. He refused to cooperate. Mr. Liu was released later that day.
9. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Zhao Xiping Arrested
Zhao Xiping from Heiyangshan Town was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong in the Huibu Town Market on the morning of May 11, 2023. Eight officers went to Zhao’s home around 10:30 a.m. and ransacked it. They confiscated Falun Gong books, a printer, printing materials, and 2000-3000 yuan in cash. Zhao Xiping is currently detained in the Chengyang Detention Center in Pingdu City.
10. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Yu Mei and Ms. Wu Shaochuan Arrested
Ms. Yu Mei and Ms. Wu Shaochuan from Chikan District were arrested when they talked to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of May 14, 2023.
11. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Harassed
Officers from the Jiangguantun Police Station in the Development Zone harassed several practitioners including Zhou, Wang, Xiao Ying, and Meng. They ransacked the practitioners’ homes and confiscated a photo of Falun Gong’s founder from Wang’s home.
12. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Shufang Arrested
Two officers from the Xiyang Town Police Station, Yongji County, went to Ms. Zhang Shufang’s home in Yongsheng Village on May 11, 2023. They waited outside all day and locked the gate from the outside with a metal chain at night. The next day, when Ms. Zhang Shufang opened the door and went out, she was arrested and taken to the police station. She was photographed and released later that day.
13. [Beijing] Three Practitioners Arrested
Three practitioners, Mr. Shi Yingji, Ms. Nie Jinying, and Ms. Hu Xiaolu, were arrested at Mr. Shi Yingji’s home in Konghuaying Village, Yongning Town, Yanqing District, at noon on May 11, 2023. The police ransacked the practitioners’ homes and confiscated many personal belongings. Ms. Hu was released on May 13, 2023.
14. [Dunhuang City, Gansu Province] Ms. Zhang Fengling Arrested
Ms. Zhang Fengling was arrested when she distributed information about Falun Gong in the Tianrun Residential Community on April 13, 2023. She was sent to the Dunhuang City Detention Center.
