(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Seattle celebrated the 24th World Falun Dafa Day in Westlake Park on April 29, 2023. They also sent birthday greetings to Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa.

After Falun Dafa was introduced to the public on May 13, 1992, Master Li was invited to give 56 lecture series in 23 cities in China from 1992 to 1994. Close to 70,000 people attended his lectures. Today, Falun Dafa has improved the health and moral standards of an estimated 100 million people around the world. World Falun Dafa Day was established on May 13, 2000, to celebrate the introduction of Falun Dafa to the world.
Rally to End the Persecution
A rally was held during the activities in Westlake Park to draw attention to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong.
At the rally, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xu enumerated the CCP’s crimes against Falun Gong, including its harvesting of organs from living practitioners. He pointed out that the recent murder of Xu Xinyu had highlighted the criminal chain of organ trafficking, which would have been more rampant without Falun Gong practitioners’ persistent efforts to expose the CCP’s crimes.
In addressing the rally, Mr. Wu, another practitioner, said that the House of Representatives passed the Stop Forced Organ Harvesting Act of 2023 in March this year, and many representatives had stated they would take further action to stop the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong.
Many people in the park were attracted to the celebration. They took pictures of the beautiful Falun Gong group exercises and learned about the persecution. Many spectators offered to help spread the information they had learned to more people.
Practitioners tell people about Falun Gong.
A young man named Adam thanked practitioners for their efforts to end the persecution. He said he knew that the CCP manipulates social media and that young people need to hear what the CCP has been doing to Falun Gong.
A young woman named Rebecca was saddened to hear about the persecution. She told a practitioner that she hoped to see the United States government initiate an investigation into the origin of the pandemic. She said the CCP has played a negative role in many international affairs.
The City of Pullman issued a proclamation for World Falun Dafa Day.
Mayor Glenn A. Johnson proclaimed Saturday, May 13, 2023, “Falun Dafa Day in the City of Pullman.” The proclamation reads, “Falun Dafa practitioners’ determination and courage to stand up for Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance while facing severe persecution from the Chinese Communist Party has shown the world the value of life and the preciousness of human dignity.”
