(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Chicago held a rally in front of the Chinese Consulate on the evening of June 15, 2023. They condemned the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution, which has been ongoing for the past 24 years. They mourned their fellow practitioners who have died as a result of being persecuted. Many locals and tourists expressed their support.

Falun Gong practitioner Mrs. Xia personally experienced the persecution when she was in China. She told the reporter that the police broke into her home at two a.m. and arrested her. She was taken to a brainwashing center, lost her job, and had to leave her home to avoid further persecution. She hasn’t seen her husband since. “Some fellow practitioners I know have passed away or been left with broken families. One of them has been imprisoned for nine years,” Mrs. Xia said.
“Millions of Falun Gong practitioners have been imprisoned during the past 24 years,” said Mr. Yang, another practitioner. “The CCP continues to slander and arbitrarily persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Many are still imprisoned and being tortured today.” The latest case, according to the Falun Dafa Information Center, was the death of retired professor Ms. An Fuzi in Women’s Prison in Jilin Province on May 22, 2023. The over 5,000 confirmed deaths only reflect a small portion of the victims.
