(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 17 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

10. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Ma Shuhua Arrested and Detained
1. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Li Xia Sentenced to Five and a Half Years in Prison
Ms. Li Xia was arrested in early January 2022. Her home was ransacked. She was later sentenced to five and a half years in prison and was recently taken to the Xinxiang Women’s Prison.
2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Jin Weiping Sentenced to Two Years in Prison
Ms. Jin Weiping from Pingfang District, 38, was arrested in her workplace, the No. 242 Hospital, on July 13, 2022. Her home was ransacked. She was sentenced to two years in prison on July 13, 2023.
3. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] The Case Against Ms. Kong Xiangyin Submitted to the Court
Ms. Kong Xiangyin from the Kuiwen District was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong at a farmer's market, and was arrested by officers from the Dongguan Police Station on July 23, 2023. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong's founder, DVDs, etc. Ms. Kong was sent to a detention center. Her case has been submitted to the Kuiwen District Court.
4. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Zhang Yanqing Arrested
Zhang Yanqing, from Fengshengzhuang Village of Yihezhuang Township of Baigou Town, was arrested by officers from the Yihezhuang Township Police Station at 8 p.m. on September 1, 2023.
5. [Fangzheng County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Yulian and Ms. Meng Fanchun Arrested and Detained
Ms. Li Yulian and Ms. Meng Fanchun from the Gaoleng Forestry Bureau were arrested at their homes on the morning of August 31, 2023. Ms. Li Yulian was sentenced to 29 days of detention and Ms. Meng Fanchun, to 15 days. They are held in the Harbin City Detention Center.
6. [Chongqing] Ms. Luo Sufang Harassed
Ms. Luo Sufang was harassed at home by several officers in late May 2023. They ransacked her home and confiscated a photo of Falun Gong's founder, a media player, a Falun Gong book and several Minghui Weekly magazines.
7. [Gaobeidian City, Hebei Province] Zhang Yanqing Arrested
Zhang Yanqing from Fengsheng Village was arrested by officers from the Yihezhuang Township Police Station at 8 p.m. on September 1, 2023.
8. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested or Harassed
Ms. Wu Shuling from the Kaiping District was arrested by officers from the Wangnianzhuang Township Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong at the Xiaoguzhuang Market in Wangnianzhuang Township, Guye District on August 29, 2023. She was taken to the No.1 Detention Center of Tangshan City. Ms. Zhu Guiqin, Ms. Zu Fengying and Ms. Dou Yuping were also arrested and detained.
Ms. Geng Fuxia, who was released on bail pending trial, was arrested by officers from the Shigezhuang Police Station in Fengrun District on June 16, 2023. Ms. Geng has been held in the No.1 Detention Center since then.
Ms. Lu Suqin was harassed at home by officers including Liu Jinbo from the Shuangqiao Police Station in Kaiping District on August 31, 2023. The police pressured Ms. Lu to stop practicing Falun Gong and photographed the Falun Gong poster on her wall.
Three officers from Luannan County went to harass Mr. Qi Junzhong in Hongying Village in early August 2023. They found Mr. Qi in the field and asked whether he still practiced Falun Gong.
9. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Sun Shuyun Faces Trial
Ms. Sun Shuyun will be tried in the Daowai District Court at 10:30 a.m. on September 4, 2023.
10. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Ma Shuhua Arrested and Detained
Ms. Ma Shuhua from Harbin City was arrested in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province on July 19, 2023. She was escorted back to Harbin City and has been detained in the No. 2 Detention Center of Harbin City. She is now under official arrest.
