(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Trial Date Set for Ms. Qiu Liying’s Social Security Case
Ms. Qiu Liying sued the Shijiazhuang Social Security Center after her pension payments were stopped. She asked that they be reinstated and she be reimbursed whatever was withheld. The Chang’an District Court accepted the case on July 5, 2023. The first hearing is set for September 8 at 2:10 p.m.
2. [Heilongjiang Province] Heilongjiang Women’s Prison Deprives Practitioners of Family Visits
The Heilongjiang Women’s Prison initiated “Strict Management” in August 2023. It includes two new rules. One is that new inmates in the training camp are not allowed family visits. The other one is that practitioners under strict management who are in the training camp cannot have family visits for the first three months, and, after that, they are only allowed one family visit every three months. The prison has not explained who should be put under “strict management.” However, practitioners can be placed under “strict management” for no reason and deprived of family visits.
3. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Face Indictment
The Laizhou City Procuratorate called Mr. Lin Hongjie at the end of August 2023 and told him that the Laizhou City Police Department had submitted his case to the procuratorate.
Laizhou City Procuratorate personnel called Teng Qinhua and Xie Qingcai (genders unknown at the end of August 2023. The two were told to report to the procuratorate for questioning on September 4, 2023.
4. [Tianjin] Ms. Liang Langui Recently Arrested
Ms. Liang Langui from Tianjin was arrested recently.
5. [Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Chen Hongrui’s Home Ransacked, Ms. Zhang Yuxiang Arrested
Mr. Chen Hongrui’s home was ransacked by six or seven plainclothes officers from the Mishan Domestic Security Division on September 1, 2023. His personal belongings were confiscated.
Ms. Zhang Yuxiang was arrested at home by six or seven plainclothes officers from the Mishan Domestic Security Division around the same time. She was taken to the Domestic Security Division headquarters for interrogation. She did not answer any questions and was released that afternoon.
6. [Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhao Li ArrestedMs. Zhao Li was arrested recently.
7. [Dazhou City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wang Haigan Develops Cancer in Prison
Mr. Wang Haigan of Dazhu County was arrested in July 2019 and sentenced to seven years and six months in prison. He was tortured in Jiazhou Prison in Leshan City and now has rectal cancer. He is unable to eat normally. His family appealed for his release. The prison said he would be released after the Chengdu FISU World University Games July 28 to August 8, 2023, but they have not released him.
8. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Recent Persecutions Against Practitioners
The Shulan City Domestic Security Division and its subordinate police stations launched a new round of persecution of Falun Gong practitioners at the end of June 2023. Officers follow and monitor practitioners and instigate others to participate in persecuting them.
Officers went to Ms. Li Xiuling’s home to extort money from her in early July 2023.
Ms. Yin Limei and Ms. Yao Chunyan are teachers. Liu Xuefei and others from the Shulan City Education Bureau’s Commission was giving the women a six-month warning or probation as a supplementary punishment for their detentions in 2017 and 2018.
Ms. Pan Jingxian was harassed at home by two officers from the Fate Town Police Station on the morning of July 24, 2023. They went to her home again on July 28 and forced her to have a physical exam in a hospital, saying the exam was a requirement before she was detained.
Ms. Zheng Zhen of Shangying Town and her sister Ms. Zheng Hong, who does not practice Falun Gong, were arrested while they were shopping on August 24, 2023.
After the Minghui website reported that Ms. Tian Feng of Shulan Luchang was persecuted, she was deprived of her economic relief payments.
9. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qin Songfa and Ms. Xu Xiuzhen Harassed
Mr. Qin Songfa and his wife Ms. Xu Xiuzhen were harassed on September 5, 2023. Four officers from the Xiazhuang Town Police Station went to their home. Mr. Qin did not open the door. They borrowed a ladder from the couple’s neighbor, climbed over the wall, and jumped in. They said they would take Ms. Xu to the police station to close a case. Instead they took her directly to the procuratorate and questioned her. She did not disclose the source of the keepsakes with Falun Gong messages printed on them or sign any papers. She was taken home around 11:00 a.m.
10. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wu Xuezhang’s Family Submits Legal Opinion
Mr. Wu Xuezhang is being held in the Quzhou County Detention Center. His family submitted a legal opinion to the Quzhou County Procuratorate on September 4, 2023, Immediate Correct Unjust and Wrongful Conviction for Wu Xuezhang’s Undermining Law Enforcement, asking that the Quzhou County Procuratorate and the Quzhou County Police Department take the necessary measures to immediately reverse Mr. Wu Xuzhang’s conviction and ensure that he is treated with justice and fairness.
